Rangers decline. Schneider has much more value than Frankie. You're talking about Frankie retained plus a good asset just to start the conversation for Schneider.

Drury/Rangers would never trade for Buch. The optics for the organization and front office would look bad.

Not really enough for Buch anyways though
Someone like Schneider would be the first piece asked for I’d imagine, also I’d think the blues would rather Laf then kakko

Ottawa declines. Not enough to get Chychrun and to get them to take on Goodrow's contract.

Remember it is going to take a 1st + to get someone to take on the remaining 3 years of Goodrow's contract.

What asset is Calgary getting for Hanifan? All I see is a 2nd and Smith for taking on the Graves contract.
Joseph has little or no trade value per Pittsburgh's own Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Minnesota trade is beyond awful for the Rangers and probably one of the worst trade offers ever contemplated on this site.
Anaheim declines.
Why would Vancouver trade Zadorov if they are going all in?

Obviously MN accepts, but it's not gonna require that much ha. Maroon prolly tops out at a 4th and Bogo a 5th. Give or take a little, but that's an overpay.

Ideal Trade Deadline
OP:
I had a similar trade proposal a few days ago with McConnell-Barker instead of Sykora and was told I was dreaming, Gorton/NYR feud aside it seems like a good match. My thinking is that once Elias is off the table there's likely going to be a race to the next best center available considering we're in a seller market year. A future protected 1st (Likely health and/or position protected) and a prospect should close the deal. I'd give the option of sending either one of these three; McConnell-Barker, Sykora and Berard.
As a MTL fan I'd love if they could put their egos aside and make hockey trades but we'll see.

I'm with <a href="/users/nyrfan81" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@nyrfan81</a> here. You're overboard by one of the later picks at least (a 2025 fourth and 2026 third have about the same value due to the year difference) with Othmann in there.

Rangers for sure without a doubt accept Smith at $2.5M for this year and next as well as getting a 2nd round pick which can be packaged with their own 2nd (or 1st) round pick this year to get a center.

Maybe, maybe not but Drury would probably rather send an older prospect than one who is 18 and doing well his first season at BC.

Get a clue Drury
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hungry4Pucks</b></div><div>Somehow all three things you said were wrong.
I am not sure what kind of value you think Miller has but it is not a lot. He is BAD and has been for a while now. This is no secret and other teams watch film, believe it or not. Acquiring a better defender in Middleton and some much-needed bite for the bottom 6 with Duhaime would be a win.
NYR would be foolish not to take that deal with Colorado as Chytil is one hit away from forced retirement. Colton is a very solid middle 6 center who also adds physicality for the playoffs. If anything, Colorado says no.
Wheeler should have never been signed in the first place and the only way he remains in the lineup is if Drury fails so badly at the deadline that he's forced to keep him in the lineup to replace AHL Brodzinski or Bonino.</div></div>
NAH I am correct. Miller is a young top 4 defenseman who potential is high. I agree that Middleton is a better defender and Duhaime would add bite but the bottom 6 needs more scoring, not so much grit. You could get Middleton, Duhaime and a first round pick for Miller but Rangers would not do that.
Colorado wouldn't do Ross for Chytil since nobody knows if Chytil is going to play again and Colorado signed Colton this past offseason so I don't think they would give up on him just yet.
Regarding Wheeler, Drury values his veteran leadership but it is clearly evident that he does not have the wheels to keep up in today's game. That being said, I don't see him sitting unless they get two RW at the deadline.
