Calgary only considers Graves if he comes with retention otherwise his contract is too long for his age and AAV to fit Calgary's future plans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pensfan21</b></div><div>I definitely do, he's absolutely unreal. If it were the Maple Leafs for example, 100% I'm giving two 1sts and a prospect. But they're a goalie away from being a true cup contender. It will take more than that for us with how bad our defense is. If Crosby Malkin and Letang had 3-4 years left of contending I'd go for it. By time Saros is available (I'm assuming he won't be this offseason) we'll probably have a year tops left to contend. It's unknown whether we can even be a true contender next season. We'd have Saros for 1 year then rebuild.</div></div>
This is a flawed Pens team, but their biggest issue is stopping goals. They're grossly out-shooting teams. They're not having any issues scoring. Some tweaking to the bottom six next year and upgrading to Saros makes this team VERY dangerous.

Agree with Hullsy, no room for Cole. POJ is out of waiver options, time to see if he is ready or not. And Letang is going to get closer to 8.5 most likely. Good team though.

Perfect except POJ plays 3LD and we don’t sign Cole.
This left over money gets distributed to Nich, Erod, and Flower who are all slightly underpaid

**(Assuming shes' complaining and not just in shock)**
By no means do I wish this kind of stuff on anyone but I don't exactly feel that bad for them either.....
Nothing stopping Jason and his wife from retiring right now and living in Minnesota for the rest of their days, wealthy, healthy and happy.
One of the reasons hockey players are paid so handsomely is precisely because they are just assets that can be moved/traded at any time. Want guaranteed stability? Go work an office job in Minny somewhere.
You cant have your cake and eat it too. Either make millions of dollars and live with the responsibilities of that job that you agreed to or don't and never have to worry about being away from each other ever again..... without the million dollar contracts.

Probably not going to happen. I can't believe GMJR hasn't made a deal yet, but I'm guessing everyone thinks they can be the Blues of 2020.

What the hell is that OTT trade, we don't even know if JGP would be an upgrade over Blueger the way he fits perfectly with Tanev and ZAR, and you're giving up our best d spec AND a first (that GMJR said he wouldn't give for TAYLOR HALL!!!)

Penguins haven't had a good defensively minded PK killing center since Bones left. Blueger is just that. He is also pivotal to the chemistry that line has formed. Trading him for a rental is just straight up dumb.

Absozuckinglutely do you know how awesome this would be
This would be very smart for LA Kings to pick up ANOTHER High Round Pick with acquiring our 2nd as they need to FULLY rebuild. As for Minnesota deal I think they will want more but nobody is going to give them anymore and I would take this deal from the Pens because it gives MN a Current player (from MN area), a very good prospect and a solid 3rd round pick. Now for the NY Rangers and this offer I'd be jumping all over it because 1st round picks for anyone like Kreider is a steal PLUS getting a prospect. Done in a NY Minute if I am NY.
From the Penguins perspective with these three additions you get a proven scorer in Toffoli with size and smarts, you get the speed and tenacity of Zucker who can get in on pucks and create for players like Sid and Geno and with Kreider you get that Pascal Dupuis type play and grit that every playoff team needs. I think it brings even more strong character to an already packed Lockeroom in Pittsburgh and I'd be willing to stay this would push the Pens to the front line of the playoffs. Sullivan knows Kreider, the Penguins Organization loves Zucker and Toffoli would be an idiot not to want to sign a team friendly deal with the Penguins going forward so that he can actually win moving forward in his career.

I disagree... Sid and Malkin need help. Especially when we start playing the big guns like Washington, Boston, Tampa, etc.

All Signed
If simon has better offensive upside, then why did they score the same amount of goals with Simon playing 71 games and ZAR 43?
Because they don't. Too many people on here over rate Simon. He can't score. He doesn't have pro speed. He's an AHL level guy skill wise and athletic wise.
He'll be the 13th guy till he's traded at some point or becomes a FA.
As far as burying JJ here's my issue. He's better than Riikola. We saw that last year in the playoffs when they benched him for him. It did not go well.
It's the hard part of trading JJ. There has to be a replacement. Not sure what they do at this point. But if they can trade Simon and Jarry for a replacement and dump him. They should.
No better options is one reason I think he's still here. Once they have a plan to replace him I'm pretty sure he's gone. We'll see who gets cut shortly.

Opening Night Lines, right?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>Another really strong pens team. I’m hoping sprong can take a big step in his development. If we can get even just 40+ points out of him, that’ll be HUGE to our lineup. 3rd line all 40+ point players</div></div>
he looks really smooth on all those training videos. He's always looked like a good skater but he's really hitting next level with it. If he can start playing defense they have something. He can really skate well,, his shot is really good, even for pro level, he has to put it all together and keep his head in the game. If he can manage to handle the defensive responsibilities I think he can hit 60 pts this years with Rust and Brass as line mates. Both of them are very defensively responsible and it will decrease the burden on him to be perfect and help him transition the puck into the offensive end. There will be a lot of speed on that line. I don't think many teams can match up a 3rd line like that with their 3rd or even 2nd lines.
