Why pay top dollar for a guy who on most other teams is a 3rd line center? JGP is having a career year because he is playing 3 minutes more per game(19:09) this year than his career average(16:08). He is playing on a top line and getting regular pp time. He will play nowhere near that in Pittsburgh. As a reference Blueger and McCann both play about 15:30 a night. To give up a 1st a top prospect and a young center who anchors a really good shutdown line for a Rental 3rd line player is just dumb and horrible asset management. JGP will not score at the same pace or have an impact in a reduced role for the Pens.
I like Craig Smith but Nashville doesn't need another goalie.
Marleau old, slowed down, no thank you.
