<a href="/users/Hedman77" target="_blank">@Hedman77</a> <a href="/users/ConnorMcHellebuyck2" target="_blank">@ConnorMcHellebuyck2</a> This deal is like asking someone to break your five dollar bill and they give you a 4 quarters instead.

haha Im not going to make a mountain out of a Mole hill. Both are good players, But I am happy MTL took KK over Tkachuk only because we needed more Center depth.

I agree with the most, but as a MTL fan I disagree with KK moving down a spot and Romanov not being moved up at all.

A Question
That is also why it shouldn't cost a lot to dump him. A team like the rangers who may need to hit the cap floor would easily be able to take him in until they send him to Seattle for the same purpose.
But historically the Penguins do not retain.
It's important to realize that.
The Penguins advance their salary cap through picks, not retain it.
Hence, brass came at half cost. Kessel came at a 1.2 million discount.
The penguins are about growing cap space not retaining it.

Elliotte Friedman Panarin Offer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>punchmaster11</b></div><div>Kings pass. Their 2019 1st could potentially become Jack Hughes or Kappo Kakko.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Nope. Blake has been very stingy with his draft picks. Their 1st round pick is likely to be in the top 5, if not the top 2. They have a legitimate chance to draft Hughes or Kakko with that pick, they're not going to trade it for Panarin, when he could be had just as easily on July 1.
I like Panarin, but with an expiring contract, he's not worth two 1st round picks and a quality top six forward.</div></div>
I agree with you guys, this is just what EF wrote

Worst Contracts on Each Team LTIR Excluded
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LeafsFan123</b></div><div>Price has to be the worst choice by a long shot, makes absolutely no sense to put him over Karl Alzner. Bad pick. Same with Rinne and Suter just because they are old doesn't make it a bad contract...
???</div></div>
Suter's contract is bad. He's lived up to it so far but there is too much term left, and the recapture penalty possibility. If he signed a $7.5m x 6 (the rest of his contract) deal this upcoming off-season it would be a labeled a bad contract as soon as it hit the wire. Parise's matching deal is far worse, his play won't last as long as Suter's.

Price has been great recently. If last year was just a fluke down year then It may turn out to be a good contract. I agree Alzners contract is worse
I agree that Rinne's contracts arent bad (they are actually pretty good). His current contract expires this offseason and his next one is fantastic in terms of AAV and has low risk due to its short term.
Suter's contract is terrible. He is signed into his 40's along with Parise and MIN will be stuck with dead weight in a few years

Laine is a one dimensional lazy player. He can't play defense. He wouldn't fit Montreal's defensive first system.

Laine for Stone
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AU5TINx</b></div><div>You never know man, he's only 20, and has put up 105 goals. After 2.75 seasons that rounds out to roughly 38 goals per year.
Ovi is 33 and has put up 644 goals.
Starting from laine's first season in the NHL, at 38 goals per year, by the time Laine is 33 he should put up roughly 570 goals, if he continues at the pace he is on.
Obviously that is less than 644, but its pretty close. and that assuming he continues at the pace of 38/year, if he goes on a tear for a couple years that number raises quite a bit.
So yes, he has the ability to be close to, or even possibly as good.</div></div>
I don’t think you appreciate just how unbelievable Ovechkin is. Laine will not touch Ovechkin’s career numbers. Give him an extra 150 goal handicap and he still won’t hit the number Ovechkin ends up at for goals.

GET JACK JOHNSON THE F OFF THIS TEAM
It is so sad to see. The handwriting on the wall. I have so much respect for JJ. When he was traded from Juggernaut LA to sleepy Columbus so the Jackets could dump that trash Jeff Carter, Jack handled it with so much class, like a real man should. He gave his all for Columbus while he was here, a silent leader. A warrior on the ice. And he is so humble, a team first type player. He didn’t deserve what happened to him from a personal standpoint. He was completely taken advantage of and abused by his parents, and what they did to him. Left him in financial ruin. Just like so many child TV & movie stars, whose parents looked at them like their meal (lottery) ticket. And Jack took the high road through it all, when he realizes what they did. Nothing but class. But the Jackets started to see the decline in his foot speed and overall game, and CBJ didn’t resign him. His game dropped off very quickly. Just don’t hate on him too much. He really is a class guy. Hockey is a business, I get it. And he probably will not finish his contract in Pittsburg. But of all the players in the league, I have total respect for Jack Johnson. And I always will.

I love this comment. Maybe my favourite comment I’ve seen on here. You’re so right. JJ gets bashed on so much, but he seems like a really classy guy despite that whole BS situation with his parents. He may not be a good hockey player anymore, but he’s still a great guy

Remove the 1st and 2nd Rounder and add a draft pick from Stl. Will people stop over rating an aging Pietro who is starting his twilight years and is 1 1/2 seasons away from UFA. Next Bruins fans will expect a 1st and 2nd Round pick and a top prospect and a current young NHL star player for Chara.
