I honestly see Sandin signing the exact same deal Liligren got

Yep. The lack of value people put on any leafs trade is always amusing. No one outside of Matthews has any worth to anyone. I guarantee you another team trading their young 80 point player on here (i.e debrincat) doesn’t need to add multiple firsts

People on here fall in love with every star player that’s available but a guy who wants 9+ million and wants to walk to UFA next year isn’t getting an 80+ point player under contract and two additional firsts

New Look Leafs - Long Read
Agree with most of your thoughts, but I'd like to see them split up Marner/Matthews to start the season and give Nylander a long run at C on the 3rd line. Something like this:
Kerfoot - Matthews - Kase
Bunting - Tavares - Marner
Ritchie - Nylander - Spezza
Engvall - Kampf - Mikheyev

New Look Leafs - Long Read
Did a team couple of days ago with basically the exact same ideas as yours. I completely agree with the way you have set up the team here, but I think Dubas still is going to make a move to shed a salary like Mikheyev or Engvall. I think we probably start the season with Dermott and Sandin to see if they can be paired together and how Dermott handles being played on the right side and more defensive responsibility. If the Leafs have cap spaces they will likely try to accrue as much as possible for the deadline so that they can add that solid defensive defensemen type as insurance for the playoffs. I think the way the roster is constructed, Keefe has so many options if lines aren't firing. Some games he could completely load the first line and play JT/Willy-Matthews-Marner and have a second line with Ritchie-JT/Willy-Kase and see how that goes. Kase and Ritchie played a lot together in Anaheim which could be something that the Leafs can look at. Could even try Matthews with those two guys which really makes other teams think who they should prioritize. A line with Willy-JT-Marner or Ritchie-Matthews-Kase. In short, the Leafs have a lot of options now. Kämpf will be such an underrated addition to this team. A lot of people will understand this after a couple of months.

Triple K Line
Rather have Kerfoot wit JT and 88. That line has played well and I think it's better to have someone that can pass and make plays with those two guys. Would run Simmonds with defensive zone starts. I like your thinking though.

No, he’s a vet D. Leafs will be signing one.
If gudbranson would sign that cheap for that roll I would be happy with that.
This would be an offseason I would be very happy with.

Detroit would. They have like no centres behind Larkin. They also have the cap space to make that move. I would say a 3rd round pick (The one they got from Vegas) and Pickard (since they signed Griess) would be a great trade for both teams.

That is a similar deal. It's literally Kerfoot for a 3rd and 4th round pick, Kerfoot is the better player then whoever the leafs pick in the 3rd and 4th round lmao

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>Not disagreeing but you are offering Kerfoot who had a decline of a season after being moved to Toronto and much more expensive than Turris, Koivu, and other free agent centers. You’ve got to see that his value is at its lowest and Toronto is not negotiating from strength here. Which is why I find it unrealistic he will be moved for picks, if he is ping me here. I’ll apologize for being incorrect.</div></div>
Do you not see Joey Anderson as equivalent to a 3rd/4th? Personally, I’d rather the player because at least we know he can play in the NHL. Kerfoot should be worth more than Johnsson, so I don’t really get the point in going out of your way to argue him being worth a 3rd and a 4th

For Minnesota and Edmonton trades what about putting Kerfoot and Johnsson in opposite trades? Minnesota is weak at center and Edmonton needs wingers. I bet that gets it done pretty easily for both trades.
If Hossa deal is insured, I wonder if they’d do Engvall+a 2nd or 3rd for Crouse. Think he’d be a good fit for Toronto.

I pinned both Boston game 7 losses on Andersen not Gardiner and I don't like Gardiner. That being said with the goalie market this offseason, I definitely think Andersen is the best option for the Leafs at this point. And to your point with a better D-corps he would do better and the Leafs had most of their forwards stumble offensively these playoffs which didn't give Andersen goal scoring support.
I also feel that Sandin and Liljegren should stay in the minors all year and develop.
As for the trades, I am not sure if Larsson would be much better than Ceci at this point.

Don’t think you’re far off here at all. Might take more to get Murray but it’s worth it considering he’s a 25 year old goalie with 2 rings coming off only one below average year.
See people saying the Canes trade doesn’t work but they are way overloaded on D and really some scoring depth and a starting goalie is what will get them over the hump. I think they’d be intrigued.
