hall trade v2
Boston should be giving up more. Chicago has no reason to help them out. Unless Chicago intends to move Hall later, he isn't much value to them.

Chicago Blockbuster Before The Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edeangel84</b></div><div>I’d assume this would only happen if he wanted out and then in that case the player can be picky about where he wants to go, which should knock out over half the league in theory</div></div>
He can't be picky, he has no say in where he would theoretically get traded since there is no NMC or NTC in his contract. Thus, every team would be in on him and this offer would be non-competitive.

I don't know. If you were asking for a 1st and ended up with a 4th...I feel like you've ruining your reputation more than the 4th will give. I don't know what he was looking for, but a 4th isn't all that great. We just need to use CDH properly going forward. Help develop the kids.

not all star players ask out if a team is going through a rebuild, his wife is from Chicago, he's going to be a big part of the future and probably going to be captain.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>realKyleDavidson</b></div><div>This feels like Schmaltz for Strome all over again...and we're getting Strome</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>I agree with that. Pens add maybe a 3rd or 4th to balance it out</div></div>
In both scenarios (the past and this current offer here), the hawks severely misused their player. Their success on another team should come at no surprise. In my opinion, the hawks just don't know how to grow players unless they're superstars like DeBrincat with a straight line of development. Any hiccups/roadblocks along the way, and the organization treats the player like a castaway. Kubalik is on the 4th line tonight in a game that is tied at 0 after 2 periods. What's the point?

2022 1st
2022 2nd
2023 4th
Chicago fans who are demanding Laffy or Kaapo: Kane is no longer in his prime, and to me this is the top dollar package the Rangers could offer without looking foolish.</div></div>
The Athletic had an article this morning or last night about this and they also said it will take Laffy or Kappo, a 1st and if Kappo instead then something else as well.
Kane for two playoff seasons at half retained isn't coming without a top elite prospect back.

he might not be in his prime agewise, but hes outscoring his pace in 3 of the last 4 seasons. To me, an indication of a player being "past his prime" means slowing down, and Kane has showed no signs of slowing down at all since his Hart campaign in 2016

Dermott does nothing for the hawks, De Haan is worth a 3rd. Hagel is worth a 1st and top prospect at least, this deal isn't it.

Good point. If you put him in a position to succeed and retain at next year's tdl, you could turn him for a profit.

If it's so easy then you buy him out. Don't ask us to solve you're mistakes. Hawks easily pass. They can get assets for CDH and MAF without taking on $5M+ in dead cap.

Well it's a loose definition but the new GM did say they are rebuilding. Hard to know if that means 2 years or more. Kane will stick around is the feeling in Chicago and will be resigned after his current deal is up at the end of next season, less likely Toews.

I think the Hawks would agree but do it and flip Kerfoot as he doesn't fit the rebuild plans, but not sure I'd do that if I were Toronto.

I didn't like the connely trade in the moment and still don't like it. Never have been a fan of all the reclamation projects. Just get draft picks. Strome is the only reclimation project that has even remotley worked out for us, and to be honest, did we even win that trade? probably not
