Big no. Why would we sign Domi to that contract? It would make infinite more sense imo to deal him at the deadline 50% retained for the best value you can get. Columbus would have to give up Chinakov in that deal

No. Pelech is probably the best shutdown defensive defenceman in the entire league.
Ellis is criminally underrated. He's set for a huge bounceback year imo but I would be fine swapping him out with Chabot or Chychrun

Without EP, VAN lacks a top 6 C, no? Therefore, I would realistically expect a deal to start with Larkin but I tossed Veleno into the mix instead along with Zadina (which is obviously the biggest piece here).

I don’t think so tbh. You’re taking Compher back AND retaining 3.5 mill. You should be getting much better pieces than this

22-23 Pens - The Slow Rebuild Part 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>Both Benn and Zucker have been on the decline. That's what happens when you get older. Benn at $9.5M vs. Zucker at $5.5M? Zucker is producing slightly less 5v5 than Benn and is still a useful player with solid two-way game. Yes, DAL is going to have a lot of free space with Radulov and Pavelski coming off, but you can free up another $4M to build your team out. Benn will be 34 by this time, so the decline will hit harder. You'd be freeing up just over $17M as compared to $13M to build around a team that has some nice young players hitting their prime.
I'm not trying to be antagonistic, but that just seems foolish to me. Plus, you'd be rid of Zucker after one season which frees up another $5.5M or even be able to trade him at the deadline for other needs or futures. DAL spends to the cap regardless, so why not free up that money to build a much better team?</div></div>
Aside from 2019-2020, Benn has been a minimum of a mid-50's point player per season. Last year, he was on pace for a 55-point year in a normal season. Is he declining? Sure, but he's not dropping off a cliff the way that Zucker has. He really hasn't shown any reason why he still can't remain a .5 PPG player (or better) for the duration of his contract. Is that worth $9.5M? No, but it's still solid production that Dallas can continue to utilize on their roster.
Saving an addtional $4M over the next couple years isn't worth losing quality middle-6 production. Even the final couple years of Benn's contract, he should still be able to produce enough to warrant a roster spot in a depth role.
Just not enough incentive for Dallas to replace Benn with Zucker here. Take both of those players out & format a deal around Kapanen and you may have something there, but Dallas declines this deal as it stands currently.

2 end of the round 1sts, a bust prospect, and 2 cap dumps is not fair value for a top 10, 24 year old franchise center, who is over a ppg player on a nothing roster. You have to give up something to get something.

Add eichel and Landy and this team looks good
Seattle ain't giving up the second overall pick for Eichel. They can sign a UFA(s) and keep the picks and be much better off.
Landeskog and Eichel make 17m in this posts. Maybe Landeskog and Denault making 14m and keeping their picks makes far more sense now and in the future for Seattle. Plus they still have cap to sign Hamilton. Now I'm saying Seattle should go "all in" this year spending on UFAs. Maybe some potential UFAs next season look enticing, more value for Seattle.

I dont understand the timing of Keith trade... could have held out... tried free agency, if you swing and miss, then you circle back on Keith with more leverage and potential salary retention. $3 million over paid and a gamble he performs at 2LD.

Again, you're probably at least 2M and a couple years off on Dougie if he decides to come back. Likely moving on from Foegele soon. Don't get where you're getting that Demelo value, gonna get hammered by Jet fans. Mrazek likely won't re-sign. Tampa will get more for Kilorn. Seattle won't take Gardiner w/o a ton of sweetners and even then, RF won't be looking to help us out. The list goes on and on.

Tampa would move McDonough, not Sergachev. I get you’re saying in this situation DET is taking Johnson cap hit on and getting some value back bc they’re adding in Serg, which likely wouldn’t be the case with McD. But I think there’s easier ways they could keep Serg and still move Johnson with somebody else attached.

You could at least have waited until after the draft when we know if we got a centre prospect or not.
You're giving away a <strong>known</strong> first liner for a centre that <strong>may, sometime in the future</strong>, become a good centre, and you're paying for the privilege of doing it.
No thanks!</div></div>
Betuzzi has never hit 50 points and is already 26. Come on. This would be like trading Lucas Raymond for Alex iafallo

I’m all for it as a Detroit fan, but I can’t see Vancouver doing it. Maybe it it were closer to moving 5-8 spots back they’d consider it, but 13 is a lot.
