Playoff Contender rooster surgery
I proposed a similar trade for zucker and was told it wasnt even close to value, i updated it with pick 31 and was told no still. I think your trade is fair, maybe a little bit more from buffalo's end for zucker.

What the sabres will likely do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ristoeichel</b></div><div>Zucker is great. He's signed bargain deal at a reasonable cap hit....he's got heart, he's gritty for his size, he's fast, he kills penalties, and he's a good possession player. I'd love to have him at the expense of a prospect in Nylander who you have no idea if he is even going to work out and more.</div></div>
the way i see it, sheary is similar to zucker, def brings less, but is cheaper and only had about 10 less points playing on a worse team. it is fact zucker had a down year but minnesota gets a player who can immediately step in and play. nylander is def a risky prospect but is still very young and has potential, he showed flashes of it last season. i understand why sabres fans dont like him, i personally believe he is still regarded as a good prospect and i dont believe he should just be looked over because of his slow development. in a much better situation he can flourish. minnesota gets future pieces as they are rebuilding and the sabres bolster their top 6. i think it makes sense for both sides, fenton also in his short time in minny has made risky type deals

what would you say is a realistic/fair trade buffalo could make with minnesota to land zucker?

Edited with pick 31, would this be enough?

My Buffalo Sabres 2018-2019 Roster
Also, Buffalo is in no position to attract any big name free agents specifically wingers which they severely need. Bringing back ennis on a very small contract (think benoit pouliot) could be something they do, It could be a low risk reward type move.

My Buffalo Sabres 2018-2019 Roster
It is highly unlikely Skinner waives his MNTC to come to buffalo.
Carolina is also in no position to move out established pieces, they’re adding ROR so they can make the playoffs next season they aren’t trading their top winger and top d man. Buffalo is getting back Bean who is a former 1st round pick as well as another first, taking in darlings salary and swapping lehner. Lehner has not worked here and could very likely be a starter in Carolina behind a much better defense. Darling is a reliable back up who could be called upon when ullmark goes through his first starting season. I think we could get more for ROR as well I just didn’t really know what else to take. Buffalo gets younger though adds to their blue line and gets another 1st rounder.

ROR to NYI. Sabres Pick 3rd.
Like the fact that you brought back ennis, could most likely be bought out by Minnesota and could be a cheap pick up

Buffalo Sabres 2018-2019 Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wagsnags</b></div><div>A few general thoughts:
1. Interesting that you must have traded for Coyle and had to take Ennis back to make the trade happen....
2. No Rasmus Asplund & Viktor Olofsson.... I hope he was not included in the trade.
3. Lehkonen a nice add..... who did you have to send to Montreal;
4. Who did you get for moving ROR.
5. Johnson said in his year end presser that if he knew the Sabres were going to be this much of a train wreck he would have never signed here so I can see him back on the team;
6. Casey Nelson did not get resigned;
7. Mittelstadt is not ready to be a #2 Center;</div></div>
So I couldn't figure out how to orchestrate trades in this create-team scenario. There are some player i forgot as you mentioned, Nelson I actually forgot to add but will 100% be back. As for Asplund and Olofsson I don't see them playing on the Sabres next season, I see them starting in Rochester. Ryan O'Reilly I have getting traded to Montreal for Lehkonen and Schlemko (cap dump) as well as picks. I then would possibly flip the picks and Johan Larsson to acquire Coyle. It's likely Ennis will be bought out by Minnesota and would be a cheap pickup for Buffalo. Lastly, I had no idea of Johnson's comments so I just left him as is. Lehner and Beaulieu also gets dealt for picks. Thanks for the comment this is my first time doing this.
