He's an RFA in a league where no one uses offer sheets. He only has so much leverage.
He's also played just 3 seasons in the league, never playing more than 44 games yet. Yes, he has potential to be the clear cut #1, but he hasn't proven that yet, and, as stated, is still an RFA. Saros signed his 3rd deal with more experience, better stats, and an arbitration filing and got 5 million for 4 years. I think you're overestimating what Swayman will get from the Bruins or any other team.

I would generally agree, but if they trade for Swayman, he's the goalie of the future, and Portillo is expendable. I would agree about Clarke, but the Kings need to move one of him or Spence, and Swayman wouldn't be moved for just anything. I don't know that he's as off limits as he was a year ago.

No way Bjornfort signs for less than a million given his NHL experience. His qualifying offer alone is $874,125.

Probably not, but I can dream?
In all seriousness, a 1st and 2 3rds is enticing obviously, I think there are some circles (mostly in LA) that see Moore as better than he probably is, and WHEN HEALTHY (big question mark) Turcotte has shown glimpses in the AHL of being worth the 5th overall pick in 2019. I think the biggest thing is the retention. If there was no retention, I could unequivocally say yes, that's a reasonable package for a guy with just 2 years at $5 million per left before UFA .

And if that's the case, in what world is moving out Iafallo, Vilardi, Kupari, Arvidsson, for PLD a win? How have you improved your team when you've jettisoned 25% of your starters for 1 guy?
And brought in a 3-3.5 million goalie? That's not a top of the line guy. That's just borderline starter money.

But even just for this season, how do you add 5 players, including 3 starters (goalie included) without making your team demonstrably worse to fit this in. Fine, add Anderson-Dolan and ****emo into the lineup at cheap contracts, even a 3rd at a league minimum. You just used up the rest of the cap space, and you need a 3rd pairing LD and a starting goalie. What are we doing here?

Kings say no to all 3 of those deals. 1 year of Matthews for Clarke, Vilardi, Durzi, and 2 firsts is a massive overpay. Plus this roster is still stuck with its current problem, Cal Petersen.
This team is so much worse than it was this year, all for adding a goal scorer at center (where the Kings have a small logjam anyways) who is still 1-10 in closeout games in the first round.

Kings don't take Ullmark without getting Petersen off the books. That said, I obviously don't know if you think they would in a separate trade. But I don't think they'd be that interested in him either given the other potential goalies available via trade. Also spence is at least fourth down on the list of available Kings D-men probably, behind Walker, Durzi, probably Roy for the right price.

Worst contract from every team How Far
Yeah, I would say Karlsson over Whitecloud for sure, I wouldn't count Lehner out from playing again (although probably not for the Knights), and I would argue maybe Pietrangelo. He'll be 37 by the end of that deal, making almost 9 million a year.

Cal's contract is $4,000,000 in signing bonus. His deal is only $7 million in actual money over 2 years if they wait until after the bonus is paid out. Walker is $3.5 million, but expires at the end of the season. Whether they want to or not, they still have to make the cap floor and ice an actual roster.

Both these things are true, but the reality is, they can make the move now or in a couple years for less assets. Askarov is their goalie of the future, and he's had a great year in the AHL. He'll need to get starts in the NHL to reach the elite level, and what better time to do that than during a rebuild, especially if it's a short one.

The first two times Fleury moved was because his contract, not because he was unpredictable. The last time he was almost 40 years old coming off a bad season for a bad Blackhawks team.

I'd say second line center as a ceiling, but probably more a 3rd line center. He's still young (22), still waiver exempt on his ELC, RFA without arbitration rights at the end of this season, he's really progressed each year since the draft. He's reached the point where he is a clear every day NHLer, but there isn't much room down the middle in LA (Kopi, Danault, one day Byfield (hopefully). I think he's really started to show his talent this season as a more everyday player. I think he would be better with more consistent linemates however, as Kaliyev and Grundstrom have both been hurt for chunks of time, and JAD, Lemiuex and Vilardi have all moved around the lineup as well. He's also been sent down a little this year because JAD isn't waiver exempt while he is.

Sure, it's a lot, but Saros is a Vezina caliber goalie, and they'd be taking back Petersen and helping clear cap space. I think it's probably a reasonable haul for him given Nashville's reluctance to move him and the current going rate at trade deadline.

Kings have Edler, they aren't going to look for another 33+ left shot D-man. I'd be more likely to agree that they would be looking just for Lauzon over McDonough.

I think i'd agree that Clarke should be a no for Chychrun. But Saros is an elite goaltender. Hell, the Preds said he was off limits too. But Blake has to be willing to move some assets to get something, otherwise he's gonna spend the deadline watching everyone else improve. Already reports on Twitter of Kings and Preds talking, with Ekholm off the table, who could they be talking about at this point if not Saros?

Walker needs to prove that he is coming back from injury. Iafallo also is recovering from an injury, and fell off at the end of the season. More importantly, it's a lot of cash the Kings are asking another team to free up for them. I don't think they could get a 1st for the pair. I think they need to throw in a pick just to get a 2nd and a 4th back.
We'll see about Mikey Anderson's deal.
I think if you're looking at potential of the 3 centers AZ would look at, it is 1. Turcotte, tied for 2. Kupari & Vilardi. For those guys where they are currently and whether they are NHL ready, I think it's 1. Kupari, 2. Vilardi, 3. Turcotte. I think Blake balks at Turcotte being included and they settle on Kupari.
Andersson was on the NHL roster all season, is still considered by some to be a legitimate prospect, and again, is arbitration eligible. Those guys may not get raises, but whether they do or not, I don't think it changes much here. Maybe the money to Edler or Mikey increases.

Mikey Anderson isn't arbitration eligible yet, I don't think he gets a big raise yet.
I think Andersson, Vilardi, and Anderson-Dolan get some increases. They've each spent time on the NHL roster and in the case of Andersson, he's arbitration eligible, which always leads to some bump. I don't think the Kings are ready to cut bait on him yet.
Lemieux's QO is my mistake, although just because a QO is made doesn't mean they couldn't take less (although usually with term). I don't think he gets a raise because I don't think he was worth what the Rangers paid him. He should be 1.65. - *FIXED*
I think they still resign Edler. I think they want a more veteran presence and were happy with what they got from him. I think they want more seasoning from Bjornfort, and are happy they can still push him through waivers.

Sure, but he still is an RFA who isn't arbitration eligible. His raise is only going to be so much unless he gets locked up long-term.
