My Custom Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ReelBigFan</b></div><div>Hayes has much better value than Coyle, Folingo is a cap dump… Philly definitely needs that first to even consider this but Hayes really is probably looked at as a dump as well.
The Provorov trade for me does nothing but give an injury prone cap dump and some spare parts for a 1LD.
Konecny starts at a first so I agree there</div></div>
I don’t think Hayes is a cap dump. He has potential to bounce back and is a Boston native so it would definitely motivate him especially with his brothers passing and being back home. Just my opinion.
I feel like Boston would like a veteran presence to fill the Bergeron 1C position instead of using the 1st pick on a prospect.
And since they don’t have a 2nd round pick the next two years, they would be forced to give up a 1st. They would be getting back a 2nd though, I think that’s fair.
If I send Konecny to DET instead of Provorov then the 2nd to BOS could come from that instead…

That’s alright. Get this group this year and focus on defense in the draft, FA and trades next year…

Burns back to forward
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>That's an overpay for Burns, but it's certainly intriguing. Why would you put him back to forward though? We are missing a top pairing RHD that can help Provy out, why not just slot him there?
Also, I would assume that MacEwen signs and he is either a C or RW, probably a RW so he doesn't have to take faceoffs, and you can save the 825k for Stone. Plus, I'd rather play Attard if you keep Burns there.
The move is certainly interesting but your lineup is a bit flawed.</div></div>
I appreciate your input.
I didn’t want to lowball on Burns in this hypothetical situation. I tried to look at SJ’s side and looks like they have quite a few openings so I didn’t want to do Burns at 50%(4MIL) retained.
I put him on the top Forward line because I feel like we can see what Deangelo would do as the number 1 man on the right, and the forward groups I created (especially the top 3 lines) would create an overall better team so we may not have to worry about defense as much as the past however many years… Not to mention how I would absolutely love to see that first line.
I agree they will probably sign MacEwen in real life, but I don’t know how he fits with my fake scenario lineup.
I will take your word on Attard though, didn’t get to watch him this past year because honestly I gave up on the team…

Provorov would command a first being added to that deal. Don’t sell low because a few ACGMs don’t want to buy.</div></div>
Would you rather have Sanheim or Chychrun? I’d like to know how they measure up to each other. I keep moving Sanheim in my proposals because I thought Chychrun is rated as a #1 D…

I don’t know how much Giroux would take in this particular scenario (bringing in Gaudreau, Kane, Chychrun, Fabbri…)
Best case is he takes a discount to come back to Philly with a perceived chance to win with that group, maybe in the high 4M to 5M range?…and I would balance Kane’s contract accordingly.

Maybe Im getting a little better at being an Armchair GM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>I guess it’s not a terrible deal if you think highly of Brink, but I don’t really. And the Sens don’t need Laughton at all, and probably don’t have room for Brink, who wouldn’t make the team and would only maybe be our 2nd best forward prospect (after Greig), although I’m not sure I even like him more than Jarventie or Sokolov. Also 8 of our top 9 spots are occupied by young players already. Even if you’re assuming Del Zotto has negative value, the Sens don’t need to move him because he can just be buried for low cost and we’re not in cap trouble. I think they’d rather just keep the pick and use it on something else, like dumping Zaitsev or Murray, or trading for a RD.</div></div>
Would Konecny be of value for the sens? But with him would also come JVR so reply accordingly….

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>judging by Chuck Fletcher's moves, you're just as qualified to be the Flyers' GM!
-Too much going on in this deal - I don't think it makes a ton of sense to add a cap dump into a trade where you're trying to acquire a valuable player. I think you start with the Koncecny-for-Chychurn frame and add to it. I'd keep 5OA this year because it's a gamble that you get just as strong a pick in 2024. Maybe Konecny/2nd for Chych? Something along those lines. Find somewhere else to send JVR (even if it's a separate Arizona deal.)
-I think switch that 2024 1st to a 2023 3rd and Detroit says yes. Fills a need for both teams without creating new holes.
It's tough to get a read on how this team performs. Adding Gaudreau is obviously a huge plus, and upgrading Martin Jones to Braden Holtby helps in goal. But you're really going to need a big bounce back from so many guys: Couturier, Hayes, Ellis, & Risto all have to get back to their previous forms, Farabee needs to keep growing, and Carter Hart needs to be the 2019 version of himself for this team to make any noise. Otherwise it's a cap team that finishes in the lottery again.</div></div>
Any idea what other teams may take on JVR’s salary. I always go to Arizona as default…

I reckon that 1st rounder goes to about 20th after</div></div>
Well, I got tired of doing (insert Flyers forward here) for Dumba (Right-side D) so I switched it up to Subban because he is also a Right D.
And since this made-up scenario puts Gostisbehere and Burns in the top 6, it makes Konecny expendable due to the cap.
Probably a little underpayment by NJ but I didn’t put a tom of thought into his return after Subban and a 1st.

1 - I was just really messing around here.
2 - If we’re being serious - like Burns better. Voracek is a playmaker and in my scenario, Burns would be the goal scorer as a forward and he’d be like a JVR (on a good day) / Voracek hybrid.

Anyway, I like this but I’m not sure Patrick is going to really play consistently so *in the case that he ends up not being healthy enough to play again* :
I would swap him for Johnson at 3rd C and put Raffl at Wing.
Besides that, I’m all for going with the lines you set.
