My trades:

Sanderson/Bjorkstrand/Draisaitl for Nylander/Necas — The big one. Hurt a lot more during Nylander’s point streak. I still think I got the win in this one.

Rodrigues/Romanov for Skjei — fine, I guess. I dropped both of them IIRC, but I would’ve dropped Skjei anyway.

Ekholm/Theodore for DeBrincat/Jones — Again, fine. Theodore was out longer than I expected, but it’s still a fair deal since DeBrincat hit the slump.

Usually I make more deals!

Nashville says no. We’ve filled up on older, slower defensemen, and since L’Hereux is a former 1st rounder currently lighting it up in the AHL, I’d have to think Montreal would add a whole lot more anyway for Nashville to even consider that.

As I wrote about in a (since-deleted) thread, the optics of this are terrible. Signing a fringe-NHLer (of which we have many) <strong>the day after</strong> a 9-2 loss in which said fringe-NHLer was awful.

The actual contract is 2 years too long for Nashville. There’s no reason to sign him other than “warm body”, but we have better warm bodies in the press box.

No, he can play anywhere in the lineup (at least that’s how he looks when I watch him). Besides, this creates the same problem for Vegas that the Sens have now: 5 LHD in the top-6.
