Leafs aren't moving Marner if the price is less than your run of the mill top 6 deadline add lmao. Plus, everyone knows Frank has literally no connections within the Toronto front office, he generally sucks at his job

I mean if Saros is attainable (and not for Marner because no chance), I'd take a stab. But you're 100% right, Marner to Seattle seems like a perfect fit. I'd go for a different return though.

I actually think Theodore would probably net a higher return than Hanifin, but I might be wrong there. However, that trade is nearly identical to the Hanifin deal (actually better). They get a 20s first rounder and a player that is both younger and better established than Miromanov was.

Don't see a single reason why Minny moves EK and even if they did that package is light. But the guy that said it starts with Cooley + is hella bias lol

When in Treliving's career has he ever shown that he's a legit headcase. If he brought that to Keith Pelley, he would be fired on the spot. There is not one single rational argument for the Leafs to ever make this trade. That return would be bad should it be for just Marner.
It's a bunch of mediocre players on deals they don't deserve being traded for a cumulative total of over 200 points last season.

How does this make even a lick of sense. The Pens get the three best players involved in the deal? This is legit lunacy

For sure but given that Marner has the full-NMC I would be shocked if he doesn't have an extension in place with any team he gets traded to

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>I can understand that point but I do not think he will get quite as much as Eichel.</div></div>
He won't be but he also will be extremely close given that he was leading into a extremely invasive spinal surgery. I mean look at Meier or Tkachuk or even Guentzal. The deal you presented is only competitive with the Guentzal deal which was essentially pure rental at the deadline.

What is the infatuation with Fedatov? He's not even one of Arizona's top 15 prospects and if graded on a letter scale would be a C prospect at best.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>Personally I do not see it that way. I think they need to make a change and dismantle that core. Take the best offer but make something happen. Don't be happy with the Status Quo of making the playoffs just to take an L to the Bruins every single year</div></div>
Yes, they should shake up the core but that trade may as well be Marner for Schmaltz straight up, it's no where near even diminished value for Marner. Think about every star player traded in the past and then build around those trade frameworks. Because the one this resembles the most is Eichel with Schmaltz being the Tuch of the trade but instead of Krebs, a first, second and third, its a bunch of nothing

Kraken fans what do you think
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wz92</b></div><div>It will always be if you trade marner. That's inevitable</div></div>
This is true, when you trade the best player in a deal, more often than not, you lose the deal. However, this is too much in the wrong direction. The offensive dip taken from losing Marner would be catastrophic if Gourde is the offensive piece coming back. If you're willing to take that dip then the Leafs should target a more impactful defenseman.
If Seattle isn't moving prospects, they'd likely have to move McCann to make this deal work.

It's just an opinion, but allowing him to get another $5M-$7M on top of this contract isn't a punch in the face. AND isn't he the worst of the core 4? Money/cap aside. Matthews/Nylander/Marner are better, right?</div></div>
Yes, he is the worst of the core 4, but it was designed to be that way. I understand it's an opinion but what is the actual rational behind him waiving? He still wants to play, he is more than content to stay a Maple Leaf and on a personal level, his kids are in school here, his wife operates a business here, and his parents live here. Why would anyone want to uproot that?

Who said I'm cool with doing the same thing over again? This team has obviously failed year in and year out and obviously Leafs fans know it since historically they are the teams biggest critic, but his is quite literally terrible management to make this move not to mention you're completely overlooking that fact Tavares would never waive.
