SJ 2023 Season After Trading Meier Ferraro to TOR for Knies Sandin Niemela 1st
leafs wont trade their 2nd best defensemen, best forward prospect, best defensive propspect and a 1st in a deep draft for someone who they wouldn't be able to afford to re-sign.

hard pass for the leafs also. sandin has been the leafs best defensmen and will only get better with time.

bunting didnt have a long track record and worked good. the elafs have tried to trade for garland a couple times before so i could see them trying again. as for schenn he brings physicality and vetran leadership that they are missing from muzzin

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>1st + 3rd + High End Prospect + Cap would be fair for ROR.
So you are missing a 3rd and that prospect would need to be upgraded quite a bit.
Starting point would be:
1st
Niemela/Robertson
3rd
Engvall or Kerfoot (or neither if the cap works)
Another team may still beat this.</div></div>
leafs arent trading niemela, hes currently their only defensive propsct that might make the NHL. robertson i could see being traded but not with a 1st and a 3rd. it would probably have to be a 1st,robertson and a 4-5th

As far as Sandin goes Toronto took along time this offseason to get him signed and at time i heard that the relationship could be soured and Toronto wasnt willing to give him the icetime he wanted. Maybe they sorted it out? Hey at least i dont come in asking for Knies, Sandin, Robertson, and 2 1sts....or something completely absurb....</div></div>
sandin has been one of the best defensmen for the leafs and is sign to a cheap contract. no way they get rid of him for a 31 year old ufa

touching up the bottom 6
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>I think Boone would be a perfect fit and that is a nice package.
Columbus fans say he is not for sale though. I have tried. Trust me haha.
I like Engvall and what he brings. I would not be opposed to upgrading him though. I don't know much about Kunin though, so I am not sure if he is what we need. I would need to look into him more!
I am weary about adding mid level cap for years beyond this year though (in the Kunin deal).</div></div>
realistically boone jenner would probably be available especially with Columbus probably rebuilding for the duration of his contract he will eventually want out with a chance to get a cup, especially since hes nearing his 30's. kunin while i dont watch much of his him so cant really be a reliable source is a top 9 guy who can put contribute some offensively and is solid defensively adds some needed grit to the lineup and is also only 25. and was a relatively high pick in 2016 so the potential is still there.

Monahan is a top 9 guy. Not a top 6 guy. I do agree they should get a top 6 winger/c and I can see Monahan being one of their low end targets to fill that spot. But I don't see them paying a first for him. 2nd + prospect is what I can see them paying.</div></div>
its more so cap issues kunin is signed a year longer is 3 years younger, makes a 1 million less is a RFA and brings some grit to the bottom 6. i put that much value on monahan du to the fact their will probably be a bidding war especially if MTL retains 50%. but i suppose leafs could trade a prospect like gogolev or anderson instead of kerfoot.
