Can't blame you for wanting him, he's pretty exciting with his toolset, but yea, Detroit is very unlikely to move him unless it was part of a blockbuster trade

Possible Offseason Targets
Detroit's not even remotely considering trading Cross Hanas anytime soon. He's exactly what we need in secondary scoring.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUFF36</b></div><div>Yeah, but Dahlin can be extended this offseason and I would not be surprised if they Didn't do that. And I think Cozens signs almost the exact deal Thompson did. We can score goals, think Kane would be a luxury we don't need. Spend that money on a good RD, or a physical 3LW</div></div>
I think the justified long-term extensions for Cozens, Dahlin and Power are all more likely to happen than either the proposed trade for Panarin or the free-agent signing of Kane. Adams has said over and over and over that they'll take care of their own players first before adding from the outside.

Edmonton is looking for an enforcer type that is also good at physical defending. He would legit be the number 7 but i think he would bring something edmonton doesnt have. i think edmonton gets him this offseason if not at the deadline.

If VAN really had 2 of the top 20 centers in the league they wouldn’t be this bad. And no way is EP better than Thompson, Hughes and Zibs.

Also, you guys really like Seamus, huh. Lol.</div></div>
Yes we love Casey, but also Nemec is our 3RHD either next year or following, so spending that much on Hronek makes no sense.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingExLeafs</b></div><div>It's a No from the Leafs.</div></div>
I think the Leafs need a player like Bertuzzi to gear up for a Cup run or to at least get out of the first round (no offense). Bertuzzi not only provides a physical, frustrating experience for the opponent but, he also has the skill necessary to compliment the very talented Leafs forwards quite well. Where do they find that at elsewhere and at what cost?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Babatunde</b></div><div>Leafs pass, Bertuzzi doesn't get you that especially with his injuries</div></div>
Which injuries are you referring to? The broken hand that he is out for currently that will be fully healed in a couple weeks that has no implications of future injury? That one? He was unlucky twice this year, both times blocking a shot that got in between his wrist and glove, breaking his hand. He is just fine.

Players Leafs should and should not trade for
I keep tellin' ya, man: 1) ROR is a pure C, playing him on the wing is a waste & 2) you're not going to nickel and dime your way to acquiring him, let alone with a bunch of retention. And that's all if they even start tearing chunks out, which isn't going to be any time real soon.

Team USA Olympic Roster Prediction 2026
Carlson wouldn’t make the team now, let alone 4 years from now.
Slavin is currently the best US LD, my guess is he’s still on this roster by 2026, and definitely miles ahead of Skjei.
Hughes certainly ahead of zegras.
Who the heck on this team is going to kill penalties. I think some more grit would be needed on the fourth line.

Barz needs a partner - Does this trade make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>itsstammertime91</b></div><div>thats a good point, but Palmieri was acquired at an older age and he isn't as talented as Konecny is, although he had proven hes a more consistent scorer in his career up until the point he was traded. I get it. it is risky, especially with the draft this year.</div></div>
yeah it’s not a perfect comp for sure. i wouldn’t make a move like this until the offseason unless they go on a great run that has them firmly in the playoff picture by the deadline. just too risky to be potentially dealing a lottery pick, better to wait until they know what they have imo

Deals for now
-Didn't the Flyers already give up on Myers once? I get that you take him back for the cap hit, but I think Tampa chips in more than a 5th for Braun at $1M.
-I think JVR getting a 2nd will be tough - I think a team will give up value equal to a 2nd if you retain him down to $1.75M, but Philly's splitting that value with a 3rd team.
-Probably could do a little better for absorbing Horny's cap hit, but not gonna quibble. Get an asset for eating cap, works for me.
-I get why the Avs might pass on this for cap reasons, but it's also a terrible deal for the Flyers. Hayes is still a very productive player at 30, and you're giving him up for a pending UFA in Compher, a post-hype Martin Kaut, and a B-tier prospect in Ambrosio - and on top of that, you're eating $3.6M for the next 4 seasons? Bad value for the Flyers on a useful player. If you want to move on, move him this summer when more teams might be happy taking a 3x$7.1M swing on a guy like Hayes instead of having to pay 7x$7M for whoever this summer's JT Miller or Nazem Kadri is.

Barz needs a partner - Does this trade make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>itsstammertime91</b></div><div>thats understandable, but i dont think he's reached his peak yet. I think him and Barz would make a great pair. On the isles, he's definitely a first line player. I dont think its that risky seeing as how the Lam has shown that he thinks this is their window. Worst case scenario he puts up 50 points a year and is paid no more than a lot of other dead weight on the isles roster,, and his deal is up in 2025. Still has some trade capital because of his age if this were to fail miserably. I think its a good fit. Sure he doesnt have the work history to make anyones eyes light up, but he definitely has the talent and skill that I think would compliment Barzal nicely.</div></div>
I would rather have Wahlstrom with barzal over konecny - the scenario you described is how teams end up in a never ending cycle of mediocrity. There is no upside for the isles in this deal, konecny doesn’t put the isles over the top and they have to pay a 1st in an extremely deep draft to do it
