Fixed it so Ottawa is retaining 50% and I can see Pittsburgh trading Rust and therefore making some space.

Just realized Sens are under the cap considering the Leafs are paying his signing bonus, but this was mostly made for the trade anyway.

The minimum Ceci will accept is 4.3M, that’s his qualifying offer. If he gets offered lower than that then he will just accept the QO.

If the Leafs offer him league minimum then Ceci will just accept his qualifying offer of 4.3M for 1 year.

I wasn't really going team specific with a Harpur trade. I just know he's very likely getting traded at the draft.

Kakko or Hughes
I still think it’s Hughes, it’s been Hughes for quite some time and I don’t think we should let one tournament dictate our draft boards. Years of scouting have gone to this draft (like any other) and Hughes has been that #1 for pretty much all of it. I think we can easily argue the gap has closed though. Kakko had a really strong year in the Liiga while Hughes struggled at times at the start of the year. As well as it can be argued Kakko is the better choice because he will be more NHL ready. All in all, I think it’s like the Matthews/Laine debate again except the gap is a bit closer. Nonetheless, I fully expect the Devils to take Hughes.

Realistic Off Season
White is coming off an ELC and his first full season, he won’t be making much. If he gets offered anything under 4.5M the Sens easily match as they need to reach the cap floor, regardless of SB’s.

Marleau retire binch
The difference between NYR’s 2nd and Toronto’s 1st is probably 10 spots, tops. So you’re essentially dumping Marleau for free.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BrandonMcD11</b></div><div>carolina says no</div></div>
Fair enough, my outlook on it is that they now have Pesce and Hamilton also on the RHD side, so they move Faulk to go, also they bolster their offence. I think Nylander in his prime is a 70-80 point player on the right line, hence the added value along with a very good defenseman in Faulk.
What’s your reason for Carolina saying no?

Dzingel at this point in time is arguably Ottawa’s 3rd best forward. He is not being traded for practically a bag of pucks.

-and BU jumped the gun and added him to the roster yet it's been reported by Mike Morreale (NHL.com) and Evan Sporer (Sporting News) that he hasn't made a decision. I wouldn't be surprised if he went back to Boston University or went to his OHL draft rights team of London but there is a fair chance he could join the Senators.

That's one thing people seem to be doing to the Sens, writing them off as 31st overall. I don't think they will be anywhere near a playoff team but when you look down the lines they aren't extremely awful, you still have guys like Stone, Duchene, Ryan, Pageau and even Dzingel with the additions of White, Brown and possibly Tkachuk. If Karlsson isn't traded you have him, a young defenseman in Chabot, and generally depth defenseman who can hold their own afterwards. If goaltending isn't awful the Sens will not finish last in the NHL next year.

Better value than TB/Karlsson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vanderm</b></div><div>Yeah it is. OTT is getting Ristolainen + 2019 1st (TB) + $8.35M in cap space in the rumored structure.
The above deal OTT gets: Brodie + Stone + Jankowski + 2019 1st (CGY) + $3.65M in cap space.
OTT would take the deal with the young middle six center in it and the brother of Mark Stone. Equal or better 1st round pick too. And the Ryan contract still moves out the door in both cases.</div></div>
Almost positive one of Sergachev or Point will be in the return back. Tampa does not want Ryan at all.
