I like the idea of getting Kakko and giving him a shot, but I would much rather trade away picks than Joseph, since we don't have alot of that type of player, and thats what we need.

Probably Chychrun for Ullmark would be fair for both teams, similar to the brannstrom ullmark trade u did but Chychrun being a better player than brannstrom.

See I would disagree that it is a massive overpay, both these draft picks will probably end up in the 25-32 range anyways, so you have to give them something valuable as well. However there are going to be multiple teams in the league that will be chasing Saros as well, which if we want to get him we will probably have to overpay

See unfortunalty Pinto isn't available, he's rapidly became untouchable for us. However, would Norris work since he is still a young center?

I wouldn't say the defence is horrible, Sanderson was arguably the best defenceman for Ottawa this season. Mccabe isn't so bad although he would most prob fit better as a 5th/6th d-man

I don't mind if it happens, but not at that cap rate, i'd max go 8.5. formenton is most probably gone, so you're gonna have an extra million and half which you can then use to get either depth vet defender as backup for jbd, or use it to try and sign a goalie like nedelkovic as a reclamation project

Cat to Dallas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlevinKalevra</b></div><div>I wouldn’t call him untouchable, but I don’t care for trading any of Bourque, Stankoven, Kyrou, or Bichsel tbh. Especially not for a forward. Subtract Marchie and Faksa and add Cat and Dallas still doesn’t get by Vegas. Dallas needs defense. If a substantial defensive upgrade isn’t coming in, I think Nill is smart to keep what he’s got personally. Which is what I think he will do. I don’t see Dallas doing much this offseason. I think Nill wait to see what young guys stick and if any of the vets rebound before making moves mid season or at the TDL</div></div>
Wouldn't freeing the cap space allow the stars to go after Orlov in the open market, and since texas has a no state taxes, they can offer a "lower" number to him than other teams but he would be making more money at dallas. So your defence would be better and your offence as well with debrincat getting in the mix

vibes are horrible at sensland
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AnonymousSensFan</b></div><div>How are the vibes horrible?
Look, ADB is a good player. But as we've learned with TML, investing all of your cap space in the top 6 is not the best way to win a cup.
If he doesn't want to stay, for whatever the reason, all good. Sens trade and we can use the cap space to get some bottom 6 forwards and a goalie (if Mads isn't the answer), resign Sanderson and Chychrun. After seeing what Brady, Stu and Giroux did this year, scoring wise, ADB became a luxury that, while nice, was going to severely complicate our cap. Add Norris back in the mix too.
If he does end up resigning, cool, they'll figure out a way to make it work. If he doesn't and he gets traded, that's fine too. Wish him well (hopefully in the Western conf).
But honestly, he's not more important than Brady, Stu, Giroux, Norris, Sanderson, Chychrun, Chabot and a potential goalie upgrade (maybe also Pinto). So I'm not losing sleep over a trade, if it happens.
The vibes are, as always, immaculate.</div></div>
I meant it from the fans side, it seems that loads are quickly getting disappointed and sad. I agree with not spending all your cap space on top 6, but you still need some competent players who would be able to play with the players we currently have, and who would be able to replace giroux in the future, esp since he's 35, he's not gonna stay with us forever, so debrincat would've fit perfectly. Obviously the cap space situation isn't the best currently, but next year the cap space should increase massively and we should get cap relief at the same time, which means debrincat signing long term would've fit, which is why the fans seem to be very disappointed.
However, he doesn't seem to want to sign here, long-term at least, and its his own decision, we have to respect it.
