Description
Last night may have been the worst game I've ever seen the wings play. Absolutely lit up in your own building by the Habs...Pathetic. Very hard to be optimistic about the future with some of these guys.

Larks is a great kid, but almost everyone around him seems to be underachieving or not playing fundamental hockey. I'm not even mad at Blash. I don't know what he's teaching these guys at practice, but I know he didn't tell these guys to not pick up trailers on odd man rushes or to force passes into HORRIBLE turnovers.

I was really hoping we'd see some steps forward next year and that we'd compete for a wild card spot to give these young guys the experience of a playoff race, but now I'm wondering if we should just continue to tank and pick up another lottery pick...

As a wings fan, I know I don't have much room to **** here given the success we had over the last 30 years, but Christ we've fallen hard and far from the glory days.

Yea, that was pretty hard to watch. What irritates me is that Holland is talking like he is going to extend Blash but from what I’ve seen, outside of Larkin, all the other major building blocks have regressed. In the first 20or so games, even the game slide to start the year; I thought the wings compete level was awesome and they just lacked some puck luck. AA and Mantha each looked prime for 50 pt seasons, Howard looked like a Vezina candidate, Cholo looked like he could be in the Calder conversation, and Ras and Hronek each showed some good promise. Since the Allstar break though, all of them have looked like ****.
I’m curious to see what kind of “tire kicking” Holland does this offseason. Personally, I’d like them to trade Mantha and some prospects or draft picks for a solid number one Defender, Maybe make a run at EK, and maybe offersheet someone like Point

It's why signing vets long term is a bad idea 90% of the time. Imagine where DET would be w/o Ericsson, Kronwall, Dekeyser, or Abdelkater. They'd have a **** ton of room to spend money on players that are actually good.
