Russell would have to waive his NMC for the Arizona deal to work, and I don't see Boston saying yes

Might be okay for Boston if Edmonton takes Backes, otherwise it's giving up a first for an older, more expensive player that might be slightly better, but doesn't fit under the cap.

I agree. Simply not enough back and more of the Oilers over valuing there Assets. Nuge is good but your gonna have to add a hell of a good prospect and a 3rd rounder for them to even look at the offer. Airzona wouln't accept because you would have to get russel to waive (Not happening) and then you signed a player that is worth the bare minimum salary to a deal that will bite you in the arse one day. Khara is worth 700,000 at most.

Talk about overvaluing assets. DeBrusk hasn't proved enough to be worth Nuge who's a solid two way centre who can also play wing, and has proven to be able to carry his own line. Nuge's worst season had 43 points which is Debrusk's career high. So Nuge has a solid track record and still in the middle of his prime. Guaranteed 50 point player who plays centre for DeBrusk who's a winger only into his second full season. The trade simply doesn't make sense for either side.

TBH Nuge shouldn't even be in this trade because the Oilers need to find ways of adding capable forwards to McDavid, Draisaitl, and Nuge.

Connor Brown isn't worth a Ryan McLeod or a Tyler Benson which is what you're giving up in 2nd round pick. The guy is a career 30 point forward which is solid for a bottom 6 type. A 3rd rounder is equal value for that.
