Description
Blockbuster trade that helps all 3 teams in my opinion.

Jets trade away: Trouba, Perreault, Kulikov
Jets receive: Danault (2-C) Juulsen (3-RD), gain about $10M cap space year 1, and $3M cap space going forward

Philly trade away: Gostisbehere, 2nd round pick 2020
Philly receives: Trouba RFA rights, resign him at 5 yrs x $6.75M. Significant upgrade as a 2-way D-man over Ghost.

Montreal trades away: Danault, Juulsen
Montreal receives: Gostisbehere (to play 2-LD), 2nd round pick from PHIL, Perrault (2 yrs at $4.1M), and Kulikov 1 yr at $4.3M)
Habs take on $9M extra cap for 1 year, then essentially break even on cap in following years.

Habs are taking a bit of a step back by moving Danault, as young centres like KK and Poehling will take on harder minutes next year.

Also move Petry while his stock is high, and build for future with those assets from Vegas. Overall, Habs defense is not much better next year with subtraction of Juulsen and Petry - but Ghost should help on the left side and parts are in place to improve in 2020.

Assume Romanov, Primeau, Suzuki are not ready for regular NHL duty until fall 2020

If we have to include Danault in a trade and take over 8 million in cap, I want Provorov, not Ghost (this guy is overrated and might live the same thing as Drouin since he'S terrible defensively)

As a Jets fan I'd love that trade, Danault would be a great fit.

Imo MTL gets too much. Danault's pretty good middle-6 C, Juulsen's a question mark with the eye injury and hasn't really proven himself in the NHL... These two assets in my opinion are not equal to Gostisbehere, who has proven that he can be a 60 point+ elite offensive D (which btw is more than any current MTL forward has been able to score except Domi this year) plus a 2nd rounder. Perreault is decent enough 3rd line winger for a team with cap space... Kulikov's a cap dump, but he only has one year left...this benefit MTL too much imo.

Get off the Provorov train. He isn’t going anywhere. You wouldn’t even get him for Kotkaniemi
