Description
We all know that Matthews is our top player and a fan favorite, but with the addition of Tavares and Marner having a career year do we really need more offense? Around 33 million for just 3 players is too much, the way I see it is we only need two of them and Matthews is the one that I always come back to. Under preforming, injury prone and only signing for 5 years (coincidentally ending at the same year he can become a UFA) all show that Matthews is the one to go. He most likely we be number 2 behind McDavid in a few years but he doesnt want to send his career in Toronto he want to bring a cup home to Arizona, unlike John and Mitch they have both proven they want to stay in Toronto for as long as they can. After another lost against Boston this year Dumbas is gonna make a big move and i think this may be it, Babcock is a great coach and i dont think he accidentally sat him, Babcock may not be the issue. I know what your saying what about the chemistry and the bromance? Well the truth is many bromances are broken up for the better of the team. Toronto is needing better defense Rielly, Muzzin and Anderson can't stop them all, with Matthews insane trade value that will be the easy part, but breaking it to the harsh Toronto media would be the hardest part. Also with Matthews gone this will leave room for us to sign Kapanen, Johnsson and hope that Nylander pans out. Anyways this may be the move it fixes the cap and gets us a future number one/two D-Man

Yes, trading their 2nd best player to a rival team. Perfect move for them. Absolutely phenomenal.. its like trading Darryl Sittler to Montreal, plain wrong.

Reading the note, I thought you were going to trade him to Arizona.

Even if this wasn't a troll job, the sad, or perhaps amusing part to all this is that if this deal, in another dimension, was somehow on the table, there would be absolutely no way Eugene Melnyk would accept it - he would never pay out that money, and especially those signing bonuses. Ottawa is SOL hahahahahahaha.

Now you should do a post where McDavid gets traded to Calgary for Mark Jankowski and a first.
