If you want kappy, start with Manson. Leafs would add pick or RHD prospect of lower caliber.

Pass from the Ducks. If I were Kapanen I wouldn't take a penny under 4.5 and that's a no-go from us. I think the compensation is fair considering Toronto is no position to be choosers this summer. Kapanen should absolutely play hardball on a deal considering he's a year away from arbitration and if he has another year like this one he'll command way more than 3.5.

Besides we don't need another expensive winger. We should absolutely be taking advantage of guys like Shore and Sprong, a couple of guys who make less than 4 mil combined and could realistically combine for 30 plus goals next year. If we're moving that pick it better be for a top-4, RHD. I would love Myers but he'd have to pay way more than 5.5 to land him and that's not something our GM ever does.

I honestly don't think you need Kapanen. You have 4 quality prospects who are ready to step into the lineup. Focus on development this year and ANA will be just fine.

If Dallas beats St. Louis, that pick becomes #17 to #19 depending upon what Colorado and Columbus do. Anaheim will find a high-quality RhD at that slot even if they don't draft Victor Soderstrom at #9.

Ducks won't get STL's pick in that range (if Dallas wins, it drops to 19, and will stay with Buffalo. If they win, it bumps up to at least 28). The SJ/STL pick will almost certainly be at 28-31.
