Description
Toronto gives up: Kadri, Kapanen
Toronto receives: Spurgeon, Eriksson Ek
Toronto moves on from Kadri and his antics and they pick up a calmer 3C option with Eriksson Ek. Losing Kapanen and Kadri certainly hurts their offense, but Toronto should be just fine with the star power they have. Spurgeon instantly improves their blue line and gives Toronto the top pairing RD they've been looking for.

Winnipeg gives up: Roslovic, Kulikov
Winnipeg receives: Kadri
Winnipeg gets a very talented (although frustrating) 2C to play behind Scheifele and only give up Roslovic and a cap dump player in Kulikov. Kadri offers a very good two-way game and adds some grit to Winnipeg's forward group. Winnipeg might have to add a little bit more here, but Roslovic has a very high offensive ceiling IMO.

The Wild give up: Spurgeon, Eriksson Ek
The Wild receive: Kapanen, Roslovic, Kulikov
The Wild gain two big needs with right shot goal-scoring winger Kasperi Kapanen and a playmaking right shot center Jack Roslovic. Losing Spurgeon really hurts, but I think he's going to walk in free agency next offseason after Phil Kessel has indicated he doesn't want to come here.

I think there would be some late picks thrown in there, but i love the idea. Your explanation is well written. Good Job

Seems to make sense in addressing all 3 team’s needs and players they’d likely be willing to part with. It also gives the Wild a chance to slot Rask in at 3C assuming Koivu isn’t ready to go in October and see if Rask can address the issues he showed this past season over the summer. They have the cap space this year to give him another try and if he doesn't fit in, buy him out next year after they’re done paying for Ennis.

Love love love this! Only issue I see is that really, what Minny is moving seem a but light given the return. In the same vein as a previous comment, you maybe including some picks going to Winnipeg (as the deal solves the 2nd line issue, but not necissarily the cap crunch). But certainly I think the principles are there.

Thank you! I agree, there's some balancing that needs to be done with picks.

That was the goal! I like that Rask idea a lot. It all depends on how Koivu looks by the start of the season but that could be a great opportunity to give Rask one last look before we decide his future. If he fails, I think a buyout is extremely likely.

Thank you! You're right, Winnipeg might need a bit more cap relief (they only save something like $400k here). I'd love to try and figure out a way to get Ehlers on the Wild, but I'm afraid we don't have the pieces to make it work. Maybe something revolving around Greenway?
