Description

I don’t understand the thinking that Jones is the best thing since sliced bread. Is he an above average defenseman that plays the right side? Yes. He is still young and is going to be a superstar for years to come, but where is this narrative coming from that there is no price great enough for him? Suggesting Marner is not enough to garner Jones in a 1 for 1 is short sighted. I’m sure I’ll get slammed for my opinion so have at it.

If there’s worst defenceman or equal too getting double the caphit he is making, makes him rather Uber valuable, where marner wins a art ross, he’s doing what he is paid to do, there’s no room for bargain at 11 where there’s a ton at 5.4. If that makes any sense, that’s just my opinion

Jax need Jones more than they need Marner and he’s half the cap hit so they decline, but it’s certainly a fair offer. That’s the thing though, just because it’s a fair offer or an overpay does not mean it’s beneficial to the other team. Many fans forget that. The presumption is if they offer fair or better value than it should be accepted. But that is not always the case. Kind of like all those Pesce trades.
