So, give up a first to get rid of Johnson... then bring 36 year old Daley onto the roster, then give Hutton $3M (a guy that Vancouver didn't even want to give $2.8M to)

The "move Johnson no matter what" blinders are STRONG!!!

But Detroit passes! Daley is in his last year of his contract. So taking on JJ's contract with 4yrs left on it just isn't going to happen. Zach Aston-Reese is 24 and has looked pretty average in the AHL Right now he is a bottom 6 forward and has little value to Detroit. Yes you're giving us a 1st but you're taking a 2nd back. This trade only benefits Pittsburgh and there is no reason for Detroit to do this.
