Description
Will try to trade Perreault to Devils, I assume no one wants to deal with us cuz well our window is open, unless they win the trade. Comrie although I like him makes no sense to keep, he'd need to clear waivers, if I'm not mistaken, and he won't.
Devils will want us to take a guy in return even though we don't need to you pickup a older center vet.

I like my 2nd pp with vassy on opposite side of Laine cuz now it's a different look.

Cop should be 2c and can dig in corners and has enough grit and sneaky shot that he'll work with speed to boot.
I locked up Conner and Laine long term cuz why the he?? not.
I think Poolman may not start as Morrissey line mate but will end as his.
Niku may sneak in as left with buff cuz buff will ask for kid but idk.
If we stay healthy might be a great team for a deeper run.
What you guys think?

Devils current LW depth chart looks like this:

Hall
Bratt
Gusev
Wood
Coleman

(Bratt or Coleman will likely play off wing)
I think it’s a position they are in good shape

I want to like this team, but I just don't see them as a serious threat like they should be.

Copp is not a 2nd line option. I think you have to give Roslovic the chance to fail in that role, or else you have to move Blake Wheeler to centre. Those are your only serious options, unless you're going to go out and get someone again.

You also can't expect Nate Beaulieu to be an effective player in a top 4 role at this stage of his career. It pretty much has to be Niku.

I believe he plays mostly LW....Bratt played on right side with Hall and Hischier, so am guessing they start with that.

Hall - Hischier - Bratt*
Gusev - Hughes - Simmons
Boqvist - Zacha -Palmieri
Wood - Zajac - Coleman*
[Anderson, Rooney, or Hayden as 13th forward]

* are off-wing RW. Could easily flip Palmieri and Bratt as well.

Where would Perrault fit in that lineup? Maybe as deadline deal...but don’t see it pre-season.

Beaulieu if healthy, I think can be just as good or better caddie for buffy, than chiarot ever was. My worry is if buffy can’t play his 60 games, that’s when the holes on the blueline going to look rather large, especially if morrissey doesn’t get back to 75 plus games. This blueline lives and dies with those two health this year. Audition is still on for 2c, copp might actually be the winner next year, on retrieving the puck and feeding laine first and winning draws. Roslovic is a shoot first like scheifele, nothing wrong with it, and I would like to see roslovic Center Appleton and vaselainen and see if the kids can change momentum and gain Maurice confidence, and please shrink Lowry pearrault and little to there most effective minutes. Just an opinion
