Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Lindholm, Elias
Additional Details:
MTL add a skilled and dynamic RW/C with size who is cost controlled for 4 years. Moreover, his ability to read and finish plays will help Domi on the top line and his size allows MTL to bet on Caulfield as their 2nd line RW - as Gallagher and Caulfield are both lacking size.
CGY
  1. Gallagher, Brendan
  2. Ylönen, Jesse [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
CGY adds an ever present 30 goals scorer Albertan with all right intangibles but with 1 year left on his contract. They also get a top 6 RW prospect to compensate for the risk of Gallagher not resigning. If he signs, they make it out like bandits.
2.
MTL
  1. Nugent-Hopkins, Ryan
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
MTL adds a top 6 center. This move allows Domi to move to the wing . It also relieves pressure on Kotkaniemi in the short term. While in the long run, it allows MTL to have two centers capable of putting up 60 plus points on their top 2 lines and an elite 3rd line center in Danault to close up their top 3 lines.
EDM
  1. Juulsen, Noah [RFA Rights]
  2. Tatar, Tomas
Additional Details:
EDM splits McDavid and Draisaitl on top 2 lines. Then adds a 25 goalscorer to play with either McDavid or Draisaitl on the top 2 lines. They also get a top 4 RD prospect in position where they need some help.
3.
MTL
  1. Boldy, Matthew [Reserve List]
  2. 2021 5th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
MTL adds a kid with a unique-blend of size, skill, creativity, good release and again size to complement Domi, caulfield and Suzuki on their top 3 lines. As this kid develops on the left, it offers you the option of doing something with Drouin down the line.
MIN
  1. Poehling, Ryan
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
The Minnesotan kid returns home to a team that has a severely aging center core. As the 36 years old Koivu and 34 years old Staal's contract come to end in 1-2 years. They would have to think about their options seriously. What better way to do it than with a local kid!

Oilers: But the lose Nuge who has more goals than Tartar and doesnt play with McDavid or Drai, in fact he plays with ****! and Oilers have Bouchard, Borberg and Samarukov that are all projected top 4 D. Where they certainly do not need help is on D prospects!

So the habs lose all these trades, and end up worse in the process.

Pfft, other way around. With the exception of the Minnesota Trade. Montreal is fleecing the other teams

Agreed. The Nuge trade makes Edmonton worse.

Of the 3, the only trade I see as flat out lost for the habs is the first one. But you have to look beyond the names involve and take a closer look at production and term length remaining. When Gallagher's contract come to end that year, it will cost you 7.5-9M for 6 plus years to resign him ( considering what Hayes and others got). That is almost 2.5-4M plus in cap space towards another solid player. Besides, I just don't see how Gallagher and Caulfield can be your top 2 RWs going forward on competitive team.
