As a Detroit fan I wouldn't make the trade. Since Franzen went on to LITR the Wings have trouble scoring. They had 224 goals last season 38 of those came from players no longer with the Wings and then Detroit trades another 56 goals to Carolina. That's almost half the goals the Wings scored last season. Then you consider Detroit's most productive line was Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha and without Mantha it will almost certainly bring down Larkin's and Bertuzzi's production. AA generates most of his offense from his speed and he is the most electrifying player on the Wings. Mantha and Zadina are goal scorers guys you want to shoot a lot more than they pass and they are the only pure goal scorers on the team. Svechnikov is a very good player and he would be nice to have but I wouldn't trade him for AA and Mantha. I think Necas could be a very good player as well but he has played 8 games for Carolina in the 2 seasons he has been with the franchise and I put him with Zadina as picked near the top of their draft classes, tons of talent but nothing to show yet at the NHL level. Gauthier was taken in the second half of the 1st round and has played 2 full seasons in the AHL and hasn't been called up and add that 2 prospects drafted the same year by Carolina have been called up. Now that's too much risk for Detroit to move AA and Mantha.

Why tho?

Might as well ask for Larkin too. It’s already incredibly lopsided anyway. You did yourself no favors here. You were better before the trade honestly.
