Marner's contract is double the length.. and Points deal is up right after the CBA and the TV rights are renewed. Cap will be skyrocketing and he'll be due to cash in.. just like McAvoy and Werenski

It is not team friendly - it is simply a realistic number for a bridge a RFA contract. Something Dubas was unable to grasp in any of his three major signings to date!

Term aside, Tampa has no state tax. Not all teams are on an even playing field. The next CBA needs to address this. Marner's "take home" money is probably fairly close to Point's. THIS is why Canada will struggle to compete for a Cup until its addressed.
