Don't sign Barrie, sign a guy like Hamonic for about 4 million less. Back up will be Woll/Scott or someone else under 1 mil. Sign Mikheyev around 2.5 m (for the fact that you are over the cap). This will save you about 4.3 mil. Use that to upgrade your D by turning a 700 k d into another 4-5 mil player. Then have:
Rielly-Hamonic
New guy-Dermott (either way)
Sandin-Liljegren.

Sorry, It's absurd to pay Barrie that much that forces you go with Petan, Marchment and Agostino who aren't good enough to make the Leafs THIS year. And then Irwin is signed?
