Offer sheet for both Cirelli and Sergechev 5 to 5.5 million. Cernak=Carllo 2.9 million. Cap my guess going to 83 max, you only have 21 signed. My math you need to shave another 5 million. Sergachev biggest worry. Someone will offer money and prime time. Hedman and McDonah sit ahead of him. Moving Serg to the right side possible but he seems has gone to the next level playing on the left side.

Based on what we've seen in the past, I think only three things need to happen and they aren't that unrealistic at all. Once again looking at the past here.

-TB needs to sacrifice one 4-5M player: Killorn. (Assuming Palat, Johnson or Gourde are 100% not waiving their NTC's. If they do waive, then no need to trade Killorn.)
-TB RFA's need to accept the hometown discounts that many others before them have shown to take. I'm not worried about OS. Players don't want to sign them unless they know the team is purposefully holding out on them. I don't think any of those guys will be pissed with Management not being able to give them 7M contracts. TB has the luxury of offering low taxes, a great team and great weather. Not too hard to accept a little less when you have all that.
-TB needs acquire a LTIR player. Much like Toronto did, TB could easily sacrifice a pick to a team like Ottawa and get a Gaborik type contract. It would alleviate a ton of pressure and allow them to dress 23 players and not worry about not running a full roster if someone gets injured but bad enough for IR/LTIR.

So I think Killorn should be easy to trade. Plenty of teams in the off season could use a guy like that. Might have to settle for a little less value because the caveat will be that they can't take salary back but that's not the end of the world. The RFA's have to accept the 2-4M short term contracts. judging by how others bought in, I don't see them being that against it. Finally sacrifice a draft pick to get someone's LTIR contract. Shouldn't be too hard either.

Obviously things may not go that perfectly but all we can go on is in a perfect world and adjust as things change.

"Lightning are not trading Cirelli Sergachev"
that might be true, but they need to figure out how to fit these guys under the cap and getting them both done at just over 4 is a pipe dream IMO

Trouble with Cobourn theory, is that you really don't save 1.1m. He has to replaced in the lineup, so even a 800,000 player, then the cap saving is 300,000.
Sure Killorn can be traded but he's going to make as difficult to trade him. Most teams are at the cap, and can't take a player on cap free without making another move. As FMarco suggested, there might be a limited number of teams that can be this move, so the return won't be good.
It sure is going to be interesting how Tampa handles their cap this summer. Sure they would everything settled by the first week of July. But if last year is any indication, RFAs aren't signing early, they drag into training camp. So other teams aren't sure about their cap for next season maybe till October.
Either way, it sure looks like Tampa is going some players of the roster, and loss depth for 2020/21,,,which kinda happens in a cap league.
