Yeah but you don't want to become the new "Pre-McDavid" Oilers, at one point you'll need to make a push to get out of the bottom and bring guys from the outside. Prospects are all different in their timeline so you'll always be stuck waiting for the next one every year,
In this year's draft you should be able to grab talented LW to slot behind Gusev (Or in front of, who knows) and with those signings you're well rounded enough to battle for a playoff spot.

As a Devils fan I completely understand. Carrick is awful. Boqvist has potential but needs time. Sabres should try to go win now for Jack.
