Why do the ducks want to keep Manson

Description

Hes almost 29 and hes starting to decline. Hes got two years left and the ducks wont be good for either of those two seasons. Signing him after his current contract expires wont be a good idea, he'll want term and he shouldn't get term. Keeping him makes no sense. They're rebuilding manson shouldn't be in their long term plans. If he is they could just resign him as a ufa. I almost guarantee they will trade him as a rental or next season so te team gets 1.5 years of him but they should just trade him now so they can get the best possible return.

Unless theres something I'm missing I dont understand why they would want to keep him. They could literally replace him with Cody Ceci and it wouldn't make a difference. They could sign ceci as a ufa and they would be better off then if they were to just keep manson.

The trade doesnt have much to do with this but I would like it to happen

1) we don’t want Ceci
2) we don’t need Kapanen
3) Kesler is on LTIR so there’s no need to move him
4) the only we’d accept for Manson is a prospect RHD or top scorer

Theres a huge difference between the two. It shouldn't matter to the ducks tho. They'll be bad no matter what, I used ceci as an example but they could get anyone to play those minutes. The ducks will be bad with manson and even worse with ceci which is good for them.

they wont get that for manson. Its dumb for them to get assets to help them now. What they should be doing us getting future assets
