Everyone on this website acts like whenever there is a trade for a player that is of a position in demand for that team, they are all of a sudden receiving some Bobby Orr and the only way they can get him is by giving up their entire roster plus some.

If you watch hockey, you can tell that Carolina has a great surplus of defensive talent and their winger depth could be improved. Getting two big impact wingers to play 2nd and 3rd line would go a long way for them. Let alone another forward prospect and a 1st

Pesce analytically is a top 10 RD. Among DFD there's no one better outside of Nik Hjalmersson. So yeah, it's gonna cost more than a 4th liner, a 3rd liner, a long shot prospect and a 1st. That's not bias, you can fact check it on Evolving-Hockey or ChartingHockey or Corsica or any other analytic website. Carolina don't even consider this. Our depth like that is fine, we'd want someone like Nylander to properly round out the top 6. Without him, there's no conversation to be had here
