Respectfully disagree... His value is low, but he's still a young prospect playing a valuable position that often takes longer than normal seasoning. The offer is solid, although the player coming back would likely have to be someone with a large contract given that there's likely 8ish mil in that package leaving the habs.

His value is getting another burden contract in return. AKA you need to pay by getting another AHL underacheiver player in return to get rid of him.

And a team interested in getting him can just wait to sign him as an UFA after his contract.
