Neither of those trades make any sense. You gave up a first and a decent prospect for Montour and you’re going to give him away for a third round pick? Then you’re going to pay Detroit two second round picks to take Skinner from you for nothing? We might have to do that for them to take Okposo, but not Skinner. Sending Dubois an offer sheet isn’t a bad idea though, that move I like.

They need the 3rd from the Rangers to make the offer sheet. I believe both Detroit and Skinner pass on the trade....

Detroit has no interest in Skinner’s contract. We wouldn’t be the best fit for him anyway.

That actually would be the only way a team takes on Skinner's contract--if it gets a sweetener. But even then I don't think you can find a team to take a 9M cap hit until summer of 2027. Either that or retain a large portion of his salary to make his cap hit justify his production.
