These are gnarly. the only trade that is even close to logical for the other team is the jets trade, and there you are overpaying the jets. The other 3 deals are awful for the other teams.

I think if Chicago is trading up in the draft for the Florida trade it's fairly close (so add Chicago's 1st). Whats nice about Keith for FLA is he his total actual owed money over his final 3 seasons is 6.125M, He is also defensively responsible and very close with Q. Pretty much the perfect partner for making Ekblad an elite defender in the league. There is an argument for them maybe wanting Strome over Saad due to their lack of an actual 2C now.

I think the WPG trade is very short sighted for Chicago. Laine is the better player but he's not exactly "needed" per say. DeBrincat is obviously capable of being a 40 goal scorer, Murphy is an important depth piece and Strome still has a fair amount of value. Last 2 trades are just bad for the other teams

Caps GM takes call from the golf course, chuckles to himself "do I look that dumb?", and goes back to thinking about hiring the next coach while lining up a putt.

I don't think it's such a bad trade for Washington, if you just take out Maata and DeHaan and put in Dach and Boqvist. Caps even add a 1st, then. smile
