Description
Even with dumping both Johnson and Killorn they are in trouble when it comes to matching a big Sergachev offer sheet. If they match it leaves them with 6.8m cap space to fill 8 roster spots including signing Cirelli and Cernak.

He’s still developing though I don’t think he’ll be ready to take on top line minutes. He can in the future but are teams willing to play him 2nd or 3rd pairing for another year at that cost? It’s like Drouin where he played really well on the third line on wing then MTL tried to make him a 1st line center

I see no reason for teams to take a contract from TB.
They are better off OS their players than taking 5 million cap hits for inferior players.
I think TB is is real trouble. They have to move out like 2-3 contracts. It's gonna cost a small fortune because no one should take any of those 5 mil per for multiple year deals for anything less than an arm and a leg.

I agree no teams should help Tampa taking on Johnson or Killorn. But even if they end up moving those two they’re going to need to move a third guy bc they are still in trouble.

In my view, their problem is that these moves to create cap-space room will generate little returns. Selling Killorn, Johnson, etc will get them middling picks, whereas selling Sergachev or Cirelli could get huge returns.

That is why I think they will ultimately sell Segachev, Cirelli, or both.

Just imagine what an opening bidding war for those two would get them.

It will cost you to move Killorn, Johnson etc....
that's what the market looks like today.
