Raanta -- I think you can get a better pick(s)

Stepan -- You can likely do better with Stepan at the deadline -- and won't need to take on a contract like Rask's.

Johnson -- I think you could get more out of TBL for taking that contract, but I also don't know if that is something ARI would be interested in doing anyway. Not a bad idea though. I'd try to get a little bit of retention on Johnson if possible $750-500k would be nice.

I think that Raanta trade makes a ton of sense for both teams. My though is to make the 3rd become a 2nd if Raanta plays 25 games, just to protect against his injury concerns a little bit.

These are all good ideas in principle. A second and a third for Raanta and Stepan would be great. You have to be a little careful about Rask -- if Nico Sturm doesn't play the requisite number of games, Minnesota needs Rask because only one other forward on the roster (Greenway) qualifies them for the expansion draft unless they pick up someone else in the course of the year.

Tyler Johnson isn't waiving for Arizona, He'd waive for Detroit before them just because of the Yzerman factor.

I don't think it's fair to say that, we don't know Johnson or what his priorities are.

Personally, if I were an NHL player the Coyotes would be one of my top picks to play for. Beautiful weather during the hockey season down there.
