Hellebuyck is better and cheaper, so why would Winnipeg do this?

3 extra years on a contract and Tbay swaps Draft picks or prospects.

Still not worth it from the Jets. It’s a lateral move at best while adding $3M+ in cap that they don’t need to add.

He's certainly cheaper but he's not better. He's also not that far behind if at all. Not worth it for Winnipeg

I like it all!!! This all totally makes sense. The conversations should be easy:

1) "Hey Winnipeg, let's swap goalies. You take our guy who costs $3.3M a year more than your guy, but isn't as good, straight up"
2) "Hey Jersey, we're desperate for cap space, so we'll give you an aging star who earns four and a half million per season for your first round up and coming kid."
3) "Hey Craig Oster (Cernak's agent). We signed a lot of bad contracts in the past, so we'll need you to take much less than market to help bail us out, while your teammates get paid at or above market"
4) "Hey Pat Morris (Cirelli's agent...and a pit bull), would you mind helping us out here? We need to make sure we can pay other players more, so can you ask your guy to take less?"

I really like it!!
