I still think Strome would be the player he was in Edmonton on this team, but I think this trade makes sense. Only wrinkle is that Chytil is out for a while due to injury so the Rangers probably don't make this trade for a while.

This would be a coup for BG. Strome would help this year and it’s be good expansion fodder we discussed earlier.

Yeah, I figured after 15 or so games this trade may be worth looking at assuming we're still in contention and looking to compete. Not that Strome is my desired target, just one that I think could maybe help us make a push this year at low cost while us fans shouldn't be too concerned whether he ends up being a expansion draft casualty or not.

Yeah, I figured after 15 or so games this trade may be worth looking at assuming we're still in contention and looking to compete. If the price is a 3rd and we can move Johansson, it’s a no brainer. If we lose him to Seattle, I like that better than losing Greener the way he’s playing. One way to think of this is paying Seattle a 3rd to take Staal.
