Dermott is likely to be available via waivers sometime soon, so doubt any team would give up a prospect for him. Maybe a 4th or 5th pick alone.

According to Rob Rossi’s Instagram, GMJR had a trade lined up to acquire a dman from the North Division. The deal did NOT include Kris Letang. Makes me wonder if it was Dermott because he was scratched...

Could’ve also been Victor Mete.

I highly doubt that the pens would pay a quality prospect and pick for a 3rd pair d that they can’t protect in the expansion draft.

Leafs aren't just gonna give up a NHL d-man for a prospect when they're trying to win. They would likely move him for a roster forward to help, Jared McCann makes ALOT of sense for both sides. If that wasn't the name involved, Toronto is smarter to keep Dermott and keep the defensive depth for playoffs. Every team needs plenty of defensive depth for playoffs, and just giving him up for a prospect doesn't help.

????? Why would an NHL Dman be put on waivers? Last two seasons Dermot has played 17 minutes a game. This season because of the taxi squad, meaning no AHL, Leafs have been have Lehtonen and Dermot rotating to keep 7 Dmen NHL ready. It's not like Dermot has been playing poorly.
