I would argue he has negative value at the moment. A lot of baggage, a contract that pays 4.8m this year and next, and nobody picked him up for free on waivers.

Rangers are stuck unless they pay an asset to get rid of him

I could actually see a situation in which the Rangers retain half his salary and send a 4th round pick in exchange for future considerations. That's how low his value is.

The Ranger either trade him for future considerations or buy him out. I dont really see any other scenario
