Description
Draft top five this year and get Johnson, have lottery luck strike again (while having a bottom 7 record) and getting one of Wright /lavoie.

Buch is an RFA at end of year which is why it’s a 1st plus a c/b prospect, Zibanejad it’s assuming he gets over Covid and somewhat returns to past two years. Could also be with extension or retention of salary.

This team would be good for about three years until the RFA’s need to get paid.

Avs don't need a top 6 or middle 6 forward, certainly not at the cost of Bowers + 1st. Bowers is a big piece of the future, as the plan is for him to be the long-term 3C.

Got to agree, Buch is a solid guy but Bowers is the 3C as soon as next year, a 1st rd pick (which COL never trades) is doubly important when you have traded away your next 2 seasons 2nd rd picks, and what he will be looking for on his next contract $5.5(?) the Avs could just use to keep Burakovsky around who is due at the same time. Not screaming a bad deal but thinking about it from the Avs side it doesn’t work.

I just see bowers as a ceiling 3c, which is why I had him there. I get that Colorado may not be the best fit though.. buch as an RFA should get a 1st plus.. just my thoughts.

Don’t disagree with any of that.
