Ottawa isn't doing that. Add bad money while also getting worse on ice. No benefit for them at all. Would be cheaper and much better overall for them to simply trade Chris Tierney and replace him internally. They have Shane Pinto coming, and guys like Nick Paul and Clark Bishop to replace Tierney on the PK, so they don't really need Gaudette. Zaitsev stinks but I'll take him over 6mil Tyler Myers every day of the week.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Ottawa doesn't save anything swapping Zaitsev for Myers... Even if the swap happens after this season Ottawa is still stuck with Myers at 6m for 2 years while Vancouver gets Zaitsev for 2 years at 4.5m. And you're saying that Ottawa picks Eriksson up because Myers is better than Zaitsev or that Gaudette is better than Tierney? I'm not sure that either is true. If you want to pay Ottawa to take on Eriksson then go ahead but this doesnt actually benefit the sens in any way.
