Description
First thing first, this is completely fantasy and I know that nothing of that will happen. It's just what I would like and is fun for me,

We are at the end of the 2021 NHL season. Montreal just got eliminated by the leafs in the first round in 5. They have the 19th, 57th and 63rd pick in this years draft (just the first two rounds). A new GM with a new plan just arrived in the city. Ducharme has been fired, Bouchard is now the head coach in charge to develop our young guys. The new mentality is to rebuild and play young players. So here we go...

First thing first is our 1-2 punch center duo. I know its still early to tell, but Kotkaniemi has showed some flash of a potential #1 Center and can be that big playmaking center with a hard shot. I paired him with first, Cole Caufield, so they can be a deadly duo. Cole Caufield's shot and KK's playmaking ability could do some damage in the future. I paired them with the PowerHorse so. he can add some size and more scoring. Suzuki is a high IQ player with a good two way game. Paired with toffoli and ylonen, both scorers, they could also do some damage.

In the 2021 NHL draft, with the 19 pick in the draft, the montreal canadiens selects :
Nikita Chibrikov RW from Russia
In the 2021 NHL draft, with the 21 pick (WIN) in the draft, the montreal canadiens selects :
Corson Ceulemans RHD from Canada
In the 2021 NHL draft, with the 57 pick in the draft, the montreal canadiens selects :
Matt Coronato LW from USA

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2022 1st round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Florida gives a probaly late first for Drouin who they hope can be a 50 pts player. He's still young and need to work on his consistency. However, Drouin is still a good playmaker with good stick handling and good skating. He could fit well with barkov hand Huberdeau.
FLA
  1. Drouin, Jonathan
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Montreal receive a 2022 first, hoping that the panthers's season was a fluke and they drop back down the ranking.
2.
MTL
  1. 2022 4th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Montreal dumps edmundson's salary and get back a pick for the 2022 NHL draft

Montreal gets a late 2cnd for the 2022 NHL draft

The Blues can't afford him, certainly don't need him and you are not getting a 2nd for one year of him. Hardest of passes.

The virtuous energy underlying this AGM is cool 👍

Interesting to see Caulfield & Ylonen so high up

Any ideas for what to do with the 30M$ cap space

Bob's not going to waive...Why would you leave the wonderful tax haven of Florida, to go to Seattle?

Edit: Not to mention the fact that taking on the bad (Worse?) years of a goaltender making $10 mil/year for a bunch more years, when he's already playing at a league-average level and will likely continue to regress, seems like something that would require multiple picks/prospects...
