Montreal Canadiens A New Legacy

Description
First thing first, this is completely fantasy and I know that nothing of that will happen. It's just what I would like and is fun for me,

We are at the end of the 2021 NHL season. Montreal just got eliminated by the leafs in the first round in 5. They have the 19th, 57th and 63rd pick in this years draft (just the first two rounds). A new GM with a new plan just arrived in the city. Ducharme has been fired, Bouchard is now the head coach in charge to develop our young guys. The new mentality is to rebuild and play young players. So here we go...

First thing first is our 1-2 punch center duo. I know its still early to tell, but Kotkaniemi has showed some flash of a potential #1 Center and can be that big playmaking center with a hard shot. I paired him with first, Cole Caufield, so they can be a deadly duo. Cole Caufield's shot and KK's playmaking ability could do some damage in the future. I paired them with the PowerHorse so. he can add some size and more scoring. Suzuki is a high IQ player with a good two way game. Paired with toffoli and ylonen, both scorers, they could also do some damage.

In the 2021 NHL draft, with the 19 pick in the draft, the montreal canadiens selects :
Nikita Chibrikov RW from Russia
In the 2021 NHL draft, with the 21 pick (WIN) in the draft, the montreal canadiens selects :
Corson Ceulemans RHD from Canada
In the 2021 NHL draft, with the 57 pick in the draft, the montreal canadiens selects :
Matt Coronato LW from USA

The Blues can't afford him, certainly don't need him and you are not getting a 2nd for one year of him. Hardest of passes.

Any ideas for what to do with the 30M$ cap space

Bob's not going to waive...Why would you leave the wonderful tax haven of Florida, to go to Seattle?

Edit: Not to mention the fact that taking on the bad (Worse?) years of a goaltender making $10 mil/year for a bunch more years, when he's already playing at a league-average level and will likely continue to regress, seems like something that would require multiple picks/prospects...

Like no. You’re a homer and bob is younger better and paid less. Both suck and are overpaid but bob is the better option. Also price is sooooooo overrated by Canadians it’s not even funny he had one good season

Wow we have a specialist here. 1 year younger... Really a huuuuge difference!! I wonder why Price is still considered one of the best goalies in the league.... He slowed down but saying he's bad is like saying Rasmus Dalhin regressed this year.... Lol dude you made me laugh hard

Decent bribery try on the Byron trade, but his contract term extends into that critical 2022 offseason, so we're still going to have to say no.

Keep it until you have to sign your Elite young guys. Sign them longterm like the havs did with Landeskog Mackinnon and Rantanen. Then when all your big pieces are sign and the team can contend you use whats left to add player in the lineup like the avs did with Burakovsky Toews Saad etc..

If we take back some salary from one of your player? They paid a 2cnd for scandella, Chirot could help with bue line depth and he’s still not that bad.

How about we take a pick out and add a b prospect?

That doesn't change the term on Byron's contract, so, still no.

First of all, we have LDs falling out of our ears. Depth is not an issue. Secondly, they paid a 2nd for Scandella A) when the need was there after J-Bo was done & B) at the deadline when contending. None of those conditions are there now, plus after several big graduations/trades the Blues need to replenish the prospect pool. So this just doesn;t fit their needs.
