Description
Klingberg, Letang, Nurse, Ekholm, Pulock are also all potentially available in 2022, but I think it will come down to Parakyo or Jones if Leafs management have the choice. I like Jones because he's younger, but there's not too much of a difference between the two in terms of the way they play the game, size, ice time, and sitautions used.. Or should the Leafs just try and sign a guy like Martinez to play with Sandin on the bottom pair in 2021? Or if Sandin emerges as a top offensive guy is Rielly a guy you let go which I think is really hard to imagine and go after a Parakyo and a Jones? I don't have Brodie, but would rather have Jones for the money, and Holl is still really cheap for what he does. Or should the Leafs not do anything and just keep their d core the way it is and plug in youngsters like Sandin and Liljegren? If Vancouver is bad next year and the pick is a lottery that 1st rounder is moved to next year.

Brodie.

Don't trade him to try to get another guy. Brodie's been the perfect fit on this team and is incredible defensively. But if they're looking for another d-man, I wouldn't spend the assets to get Jones or Parayko just to have them play bottom pair.

But also funny that you think Parayko and Jones are similar in terms of play style. Jones is a defensive liability and Parayko is a beats defensively. If I had to choose, I'd take Parayko in a heart beat.

Edit: Also Parayko is only 7 months older than Jones. That wouldn't really be a factor.

Just keep Brodie. Parakyo is almost certainly going to re-sign in St Louis and Jones is grossly overrated and already getting exposed.
