No way from the Habs, sorry Couturier is 28 and a UFA at the end of next season and could walk for nothing. That's too much of a price to pay for potentially 1 year of Couturier. Also in 6-8 years we will be looking for another 1 or 2 C, instead of just letting KK and Zuke develop and take over the team for the next 15-20 years! That just doesn't seem like good long term planning here.

KK has already posted similar numbers to Couturier's first 3 years and it took Couts 7 years to hit 7 points, KK may eclipse 70 quicker than Couts if give top 6 minutes on a regular basis with top 6 wingers. So we trade the younger asset for the older one once again (flashes of Subban-Weber trade here)

We must stick with those two indeed.

Everyone in the world knows we won the subban fir weber trade by a landslide. Subban had one good year after leaving Montreal brings nothing g to the table for 9 million a year. Weber has been a stalwart on defence every year he has been here. This trade was one of the greatest heist GM ever. Nobody in the hockey world disagrees on that that is fact.

Philly would have to consider the deal but I don’t think this gets accepted. Struble is a nice piece but is being dealt as a surplus. The first would be mid to late in the round in a year where everything past the first 15ish picks seems to be a toss up. And Kk may never turn out to be half the player Couturier is.

Philly would be taking a massive risk trading the reigning Selke Trophy winner in his prime without getting a sure thing back.
