Description
Once Rossi is ready, the plan would be to move Reinhart to the wing and Zucc down to the third line with Ek and Foligno.

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Jensen, Nick
  2. Kuznetsov, Evgeny
Additional Details:
I proposed this trade in a previous thread. Ultimately the Caps are giving up the most talented player here but if he only put up 60 points like he was on pace for this season then we're stuck with an overpaid but decent center. I'm still not totally sold on Kuzy, but I think the Wild and Caps fit nicely as trade partners if Guerin does some due-diligence and determines Kuzy won't be an issue for us.
2.
MIN
  1. Reinhart, Sam [RFA Rights]
BUF
  1. Beckman, Adam
  2. Greenway, Jordan
  3. 2021 1st round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Total shot in the dark on value. Beckman is a good prospect that could end up as a 2nd liner some day if everything pans out. WHL player of the year in his draft year over fellow classmate Dylan Cozens.

If Minnesota has a good offseason they will become contenders

In my opinion, minny loses both these trades. Think the values are fine but kuzy is a big risk and I'm not sold on reinhart yet. When's the last time reinhart played center? Honest question. Didn't know he could play center

He played center when Eichel was out this season and looked good. The plan would not be to permanently play him there, but just while we wait for Rossi for a half/full season.

But I agree, Kuzy is a massive risk and one that I'm not sure I'd want us to take.

My issue with the Kuznetsov trade is that we're kinda adding a player who is going to make us worse in the bottom 6. I don't see where we can really put Rask, and he's not good enough to play 2C IMO. And he's got a 4M cap hit, right? Just a tough spot for us.

Jensen was our best RHD this season. I would much prefer to keep him. I do like Dumba though.

I understand Minnesota probably wants to get rid of Rask, but I think it should be in a separate trade than the Kuzy one. He just won't fit in Washington. Kuzy for Dumba makes plenty sense, but I would ask for a little more from Minnesota and ask to keep Jensen.

Does Minnesota even need Reinhart? JEE is a good 2C and Rossi can play 3C. My understanding was Rossi was possibly going to play in the NHL this year before his covid complications, so he should be ready by now
