Description
rumors have started that both the Kings and Rangers have cooled their jets on Eichel: mostly because of his cap hit, injury and Buffalo's tragic asking price. most people have been saying this for months, but Buffalo fans just don't get it.

if true, and both teams are out - isn't there a play here that would be mutually beneficial for both teams. trading from a position of strength - Kings are deep in solid forward prospects and the Rangers are deep in solid defensive prospects.

I don't think you are valuing Kings players very well here or addressing their real areas of concern (top-pair LD), Vilardi and Turcotte are much stronger assets than anything you are presenting here. The Kings need a top LD, that could be K'Andre Miller but I don't see him as the same worth as Turcotte or Vilardi personally.

Lundkvist - Not needed, Kings are pretty set on the right side with Doughty, Roy, Walker, Strand and Grans/Faber/Spence in waiting
Schneider- Same see above
Jones - could be a potential top LD, but not ready right now and close to where Bjornfot and Andersen are, Miller would be a better option.
Roberson - Same as above but not as intriguing as Jones
Reunanen -Same as above but not as intriguing as Jones

You include 3 of the Kings 4 best players 21 and under (Turcotte, Vilardi, Kupari), yet don't include any of New York's top 4 (Kakko, Lafreniere, Miller, Kravtsov). Vilardi and Turcotte are the two best players in the trade. This trade heavily favors New York. No way LA goes for this.

Swap Lundqvist and Schneider for Kakko and K'Andre Miller and that would be a trade worth considering.

I don't think the point of his post was this exact trade, more just throwing the players that would options for both clubs to start a conversation about specific players.

Both of you are right in the fact that anything including Turcotte or Vilardi means K'Andre Miller is coming back, with varying pieces.

There has been discussions on CapFriendly about a Robertson for Kupari swap, but I still think more would need to be going to LA because Kupari is pushing for an NHL roster spot and Robertson has not played any professional hockey yet.

Not that I know for sure, but I don’t think he was suggesting this being a swap of all the players in that “trade”
Looks like he’s just listing the players that give the teams such good depth at their relative position
